TV & Film Movie Lounge

I've been watching some fascinating 'direct cinema', people who made films without a camera, drawing, painting etc onto celluloid. See Norman McLaren's 'Begone Dull Care', and 'Mothlight' by Stan Brakhage!

I watched Lords Of Dogtown yesterday. I love this film, so much. & it takes me back to being a teenager hanging around with the skaters. :D

^ I thought Thor was crap. I stopped watching it halfway through.:D What did you think of it?:)

I saw Mission Impossible 4 the other day. I think the third film is definitely the best one of the bunch.

Extremely predictable but at least it had some funny parts. I probably wouldn't have watched it otherwise, but I was told I should see it before watching The Avengers to understand it better.

^You should! I would join in. I need to watch the movie again, though.

Watched Dolores Claiborne (1995) tonight. I love Kathy Bates and I love the atmosphere that the movie creates...

Wow that movie has got to be really ****ed up. I don't think I have ever heard you call any horror movie disturbing before. :D

Yeah, it kind of was... It was almost David Cronenbergish, a mixture of body horror and psychological thriller. It's not a gory movie or anything, it's the story and the characters that make it creepy. It definitely made me see Antonio Banderas in a new light.

I saw The Bourne Legacy today.o_O It really wasn't as good as the first three films. Jeremy Renner doesn't seem like a leading man to me.

I think the best parts are the flashbacks; they have a real feeling of time and place to them. And I like the eclipse scene...

Yeah after I saw the trailer and read the description of the movie I knew it wasn't for me. I'm still recovering from some old school Cronenberg movies that seemed to be etched in my brain forever!

I recently watched Paul w/ Simon Pegg. I was surprised by all the cameos and the impressive cast list.
