TV & Film Movie Lounge

Today I watched The Boy Next Door, produced by Jennifer Lopez and starring Jennifer Lopez. It was just ok though I did go "oh sh*t!" a couple times. It was a thriller about JL character being stalked by a crazy boy who lived next door that she had sex with and he got all obsessed. It was quite predictable.

I have just watched an excellent movie called The Free State of Jones starring Matthew McConaughey. It is a historical drama about the Civil War and post Civil War Mississippi. It is a true story about something that happened that was not very well known to those outside of the area. While there are some very disturbing scenes, it was very good. This article is very long but explains the history.

I watched an excellent movie yesterday! First Man starring Ryan Gosling as Neal Armstrong. It was really good and interesting about the personal life of Armstrong and the astronauts. I love the whole NASA space exploration thing so it was really cool!

That's on my list.

Watched “Bohemian Rhapsody” yesterday.

Really very good, Rami Malek delivered a great performance for which he (IMO correctly) received the Academy Award as Best Actor.

I have watched 2 excellent movies this weekend!
Gone Girl starring Ben Afflect. A thriller with twists! Disturbing with some sex and violence. Award winning performances!
Now You See Me starring Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, and Morgan Freeman. Another action thriller with surprises! There is a sequel I must get!
Also saw a really dumb movie called De-Bug, a sci-fi starring Jason Momoa (which is why I got it) It was stupid! :D
Just out of curiosity, I got the "new" Point Break. The original with Patrick Swayze is one of my all time favorite films. The new one was ok. It had some awesome stunts and beautiful scenery. The "update" was so unnecessary!

I didn't watch Gone Girl all the way through, same with the book! I started them both, but lost interest.

I'm going to see Godzilla this Saturday. I'm really looking forward to seeing that film. I hardly ever bother to go out to the cinema to watch films.

I saw Godzilla, hmm, it wasn't amazing. I mean, the monsters were, but it didn't have much of a storyline. I will give it 7/10 just because of Mothra.:D

Oh yes, we were in a cinema called Screen X. It extended the film image down the side walls. I've never seen that before, made me feel a little dizzy at times!

See the film go beyond the frame with innovative 270° projection* – a world first and exclusive to Cineworld in the UK. The state-of-the-art technology uses up to twelve additional projectors to extend the film out onto the side walls of the screening room, for a truly atmospheric experience that surrounds you in your seat.

I saw trailers for a few more films that I want to see, which is unusual. X-Men Dark Phoenix, Anna and Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw.

I’ve seen two different versions of Godzilla, the original from 1954 with Raymond Burr, and the 1998 version directed by Roland Emmerich. I think that’s enough Godzilla for me. :p

I want to see the X-Men movie as well. I just saw a trailer for it. It looks pretty cool.

I watched an interesting movie today called Kicks, as in sneakers/shoes. It is a "coming of age" story in the hood where Air Jordan sneakers are a hot commodity. If you liked Boys 'n the Hood, you will like this movie. It has unknown actors and is both gritty and sad. It was released in 2016. I never heard of it. I liked it quite a lot.

I did record X-Men: Days of Future Past but haven't watched it yet.

Ah, that’s a good one

I would say watch it before the new one, as the new one likely follows the story... (my assumption as they have again the actors playing the “younger selves” of the main protagonists)

Also, I liked Peter Dinklage as villain.
