Software my AVG expiring?

I wonder if you can use Malwarebytes with Windows Defender, or AVG. That is what I possibly plan to do.

THanks. I am not a really big buyer of things online. And I tend to browse safely. I also read that browsers like firefox have things like script blockers and add-ons that detect things that show up on pages when you are browsing. I might look into one of those sorts of things.

The free version of Malwarebytes does not have real time protection. This is a good thing if you are already using an AV that has real time protection. Yes, you can buy the premium version of Malwarebytes and disable the real time protection (so it won't interfere with your primary AV), but I guess I don't see the advantage of doing this (over just using the free version). The free version of Malwarebytes has to be manually updated, but I don't think that is that much trouble.

I run the free version of Malwarebytes on my laptop as a secondary scanner, with Norton as my primary AV. (Norton came with the new laptop, and it would be more trouble to uninstall it to put in another AV program).

Ive heard people say that Microsoft is good. A matter of opinion.

I used it for a whole year on my old laptop without incident.

I got Avast in the end.....my AVG claimed to have expired but it keeps saying it protected me recenty, and just now it did an automatic update, so I'm not sure if it is still running or not, whether it is still protecting my computer....I could uninstall it, I suppose, but if it is still working I might as well leave it....I don't think it is causing any problems.
