I agree with Mikkel, some of the passages in the story about the Romanian couple with 5 children accused of spanking their children (which is strictly forbidden in Norway) lead me to believe that there might be more to it, although - as the couple are quote in the article - "there were no visible marks"...
I still remember the case of the Malaysian diplomat in Sweden who was arrested for (as it turned out quite severely) beating his children.
Of course, in Malaysia, where I live, many people tended not to understand what would be wrong with that...

My guesses is that people close to the childen report it, because they want the best for the children. Other family members, teachers, neightbours etc. Several children could be alive today, if they were taken from their parents. Like the case with Christopher.

IS terrorists in Stockholm ... or not ... Iraqi Security Services (do they exist?) say 7 or 8 terrorists are here to blow up themselves and ... well, nobody knows. Eurovision's Melody Festival is here next month or the royals are coming for the king's 70th... They have not raised the threat level (3 out if 5 now) and the Iraqis only know what's in the Swedish press so, this might be the Russians playing games again. Either that or the security forces reminding everyone how much they're needed now that it's Budget time here.

I was thinking Iraqi Security Services are basically American "advisors", but I could be wrong. What has Sweden done to offend islamist extremists? Win the Eurovision song contest one time too many? I guess they don't particularly need a reason besides Sweden being a nation of infidels.

Lavrov also rejected NATO claims that Russia is conducting “dangerous activities” near the borders of its member states, saying this is an “unscrupulous attempt to distort the reality.”
“NATO military infrastructure is inching closer and closer to Russia’s borders. But when Russia takes action to ensure its security, we are told that Russia is engaging in dangerous maneuvers near NATO borders,” he added.

The Norwegian import customs duty is insane! And seems completely contrary to the spirit of the EEA (i.e. the "European market" of which Norway is a member). Where is our supposed "free flow" of goods?
