Protesters from both sides of the immigration issue faced off in noisy and emotional confrontations outside the U.S. Border Patrol station in Murrieta on Friday, July 4, where more detained migrants were expected to arrive from Texas on Friday.
The police presence was more noticeable — and more arrests were made — than when three buses carrying 140 Central American migrants were turned away by anti-immigration groups on Tuesday.
The migrants — mostly women and children — were being brought to Murrieta from Texas, which has been overwhelmed with the number of Central American immigrants crossing the border from Mexico. The detainees are being brought to the Inland office for processing, then will be released to reunite with their families across the United States until their legal status is determined, immigration officials said...

So all this is happening nearby and it's become ridiculous. I knew the Murrieta/Temecula area was full of skinhead racists since Tom Metzger had lived in the area (previous grand wizard of the KKK) and started some hate groups, but this has gotten out of hand.
I'm in a local Facebook news group for the area, and the hate that is being spewing is sickening. It's mostly white, self-entitled, suburbanites causing the problems. They're calling the refugee children, disease ridden, criminal parasites.
There's also the conspiracy theories being thrown around by them as well; Obama planned this out and did it on purpose to divide the city. There was something about Bengazi thrown in too.
The funny thing is, they are standing in front of the buses and blocking them, calling the families criminals for being here illegally, while breaking the law themselves by blocking the buses. Sickeningly, they did all the yelling while standing right up against the buses with the children on them, as well as their own children standing next to them.
And worst of all is the mayor, who started the protesting to begin with and was out there yelling as well. Now he's upset that he and the city are being portrayed as racist. He called a press conference to whine about how unfair the media was in showing a clip of him protesting.
Thankfully, not everyone is so filled with hate, and they've been collecting things for the refugees; clothing, diapers, food, toiletries and toys.
Anyway, the comments on the article are a pretty good reflection of what's going on in the community and the type of people living there.
