TV & Film Stuff in movies and on TV that bothers you

I started a thread on VB called "What I learned from the movies" that turned into basically the title of this new thread: People complaining (and rightly so) about things in movies and on TV that bothered them. Did somebody in that thread complain about the fact that whenever you see someone looking at old photos in a school yearbook, their hairstyles never changed at all between the past and the present? Cause that does bug me.

Or how about people drinking booze who never seem to be affected by all that liquor, unless the storyline calls for them to be drunk, and it's usually for comic relief? Either that or the storyline calls for them to get so drunk they get violent and punch somebody out.

It's silly things that bother me, mostly in action movies Like when a grenade causes a big fireball of an explosion, and if you just barely jump out of that fireball you're completely safe. A fragmentation grenade just doesn't work like that.

And people holding machine guns Rambo style spraying ammo in every direction. Full auto is extremely ineffective for anything other than suppression beyond a few dozen meters.

And in a fist fight scene, the main characters can hit each other in the face like 80 times, while anyone else that gets a little whack is conveniently unconscious until the end of the scene. In reality, if they're unconscious for that long they're probably in a coma, and if someone can hit someone in the face that many times and not do any noticeable damage, they don't deserve to be the main character in an action movie.

That kind of crap bugs the hell out of me too. I love when people go flying (especially off their feet) when a bullet hits them, please.

And oh gawd, in Shooter when he starts explaining how you take the earths rotation into factor on a long shot, oh please... just worry about the wind, gravity, and the consistency of your handloads from one another.

When someone is physically or emotionally victimized, especially if it's two or more people against one, or if it's being done to a nonhuman. Just fills me with rage and makes me sick at the same time. Can't watch scenes like that because they get to me too much.

Things that irritate me:

Characters who are supposed to be professional women who wear tight clothing, short skirts, and super high heels. Sorry - women who want to be taken seriously simply don't dress like that at work.

The houses and lifestyles that people with average to high average incomes are supposedly affording.

Oh yeah or women who wouldn't even be wearing make up (medieval peasants as an example) or women who are in a rush to save the world or something still having time to do their hair and make up. Or all women are ridiculously fit and beautiful while you get men of all shapes and sizes. Or that only 33% of speaking roles go to women and then they only get to speak to or about men.

How about when someone falls into water or otherwise gets soaked, yet in the very next scene that takes place minutes later (in movie time) and their hair and cloths are perfectly dry.

All of the above comments concerning women.... so unrealistic.
Also seldom does anyone wear their seat belts, even police in high speed chases. Bugs the heck out of me!
