deus ex machina endings irk me.
As if the writers couldn't think of a real solution, so they just go with a magical or coincidental ending.
The easy/lazy way out...
I dont like them in films, but I loovee spotting them.

Hey! The manage to sing in understandable Norwegian in Boardwalk Empire! It was just some few words of a children's lullaby, but still Norwegian!
You gotta take the little victories wherever you can get 'em, right?
Channing Tatum is like a boy version of Megan Fox. Pretty to look at, but... not that memorable, imo.
Manipulation. When the bad character(s) manipulates circumstances so that the good character(s) have the wrong information, therefore, making wrong decisions/choices.

Just realized I never responded to this.Hmmm...interesting. Could you give an example?
This just happened on B&B...Liam and Hope belong together but have been manipulated for years (at this point, they are stupid and don't belong together, IMO). Liam is trying to get to Hope before she goes away with Wyatt. Wyatt's mother traps Liam in the elevator so that Hope and Wyatt already leave and he doesn't get to see her before she goes. Manipulation. I hate it. lol
It happens in some movies, too. But that's what I mean about manipulation. Someday someone is going to write a plot where the characters don't fall for the ridiculousness. It's going to be refreshing.
