Health Issues The Everything Covid 19 Thread

TJX Corporation, the parent company of TJ Maxx, Homegoods, Marshals, and Sierra outdoor store has shut us all down as of today. I would imagine the international versions of these stores will close as well. We will be paid for at least 2 weeks. Found this article:

I finished my day at work. Now Unghshu is on Martlet train, going to my hometown (Kolpino). After work, i bought something in Azeri shop, took a bus to "Lenin's avenue" subway station, and dropped by "French boulevard" mall, in order to wait until it's 8.15p.m. and until it's time to go to the subway and to Moscowsky railway station. (Geez... There was a saxophonist playing "live". He was standing 15 meters away from me and making irritating noises. I think, having invited him, the mall's administration was trying to make people more relaxed, but they made them irritated instead, as no one wanted to sit on the bench next to him).
When i came to Moscowsky railway station, i was trying to avoid people (except these Petersburgians who are here, on suburban Martlet train, in the same carriage with me). And everyone is coughing, sneezing and blowing his nose!!! I don't feel comfortable,... though i'm coughing and blowing my nose too, lol.
This word ("Moscow") sounds somewhat weird and ridiculous to me, because it's a dangerous place. Today the first death of covid in Russia was registered (and it occured in Moscow),- a 79y.o. woman died of complications of covid.😳
Our lyceum is on the "regime of free attendance", while e.g. Sviridov's school is closed completely (it's the school where Unghshu was supposed to go to for the kids' dancing competition).
We had only 3 students at the lesson today, but we were glad they came. We also saw my big boss, who was making jokes about an "adequate punishment" for us (lazy teachers who are using every opportunity to skip work, haha). I was glad she saw me at work though. She told me that spring vacations wouldn't be expanded, and we all must come on Mar.30, according to the schedule,- otherwise...👊⏩🤜 🥴
Mrs. Victoria Sogreyeva said that her friend works at "Hermitage" museum as a "keeper" (assistant in a hall with paintings or any other precious historical objects). Hermitage is closed for guests, but they (the keepers) have to come to work as if nothing happened and sit there solemnly (on a chair) for a few hours (and to stare blankly into space).
Liza and Elijah (my sister and her husband) are singing at the concert in Mariinsky theatre. Without any audience... Mariinsky is closed, but it's translating the concert online (for free,- anyone can watch it). Mom has just watched them perform, and said that they did great. I'm hoping singers and everybody in Mariinsky are not very contagious.
When we were leaving work, we brainwashed the kids, like: "Listen, kids! Please, under any circumstances, don't go to Moscow, and don't go to other cities. If you have a summer cottage,- go to the country and stay there. Avoid crowds. Wash your hands thoroughly. Don't touch your face". Before the lesson, i also showed this video (about desinformation, scam and robbers), told them not to open the door, and to call the police, if they see suspicious dudes... Also told them to persuade their parents to stock up on food. The kids took my words very seriously.
I hope that the spring vacations will be expanded. I really do. Not because i want to fool around 3 weeks in a row, but because... you won't believe me what they have done. Russian diplomats have attained it: they are bringing home about 1700 Russians who got stuck in Montenegro. The first 157 people are already home. They say that Montenegro used to be like a fortress, but it's being defeated by covid gradually. NTV news said that about 100000(!) Russians are still stuck abroad, and every day their chances to come home are decreasing. It's an egocentristic point of view, but how much of the "returned" are contaminated?? How many contaminated Petersburgians will come back to SPb?? I feel bad for those people, but if to think, it's a criminal way of thinking: when the outbreak happened, and they were aware of it, and they were told to avoid going abroad,- they did exactly the opposite!!! Everyone was trying to "catch the last chance" to have fun vacations. Montenegro is an extremely popular destination among Russians. Plus, 700 people are stuck in Chile. A lot of Russians are stuck in Philippines, Spain and Tenerife. Many of those 100000 won't be able to return home in the visible future.

I have travelled by subway tonight. It seems desolate (compared to what it should be on Thursday). Every public place is quite empty now. Feels weird... (Some) petersburgians are quite smart.
Something more or less scientific about the reasons why soap kills covid:

For those of you who smoke American cigarettes, Philip Morris has just stopped operations in its Richmond, VA plant because a second employee tested positive for Covid-19. I don't know how long this stoppage will last, but that plant produces 600 million cigarettes a day. So stock up! (Or quit!)

I saw an interview with an Italian doctor in a make shift emergency ward in a hospital corridor. It was not only scary but heartbreaking to
see people literally suffocating due to lack of ICU equipment. Apparently they are all dying of acute pneumonia.

They said on the news yesterday, that in Italy, it's being done something similar to what was done during WWII, in mobile surgical army hospitals. "They're trying to save only those, who are worth saving yet". (end of quote).🥺

Strictly opinion, but I feel like the majority of the hoarders are of the mindset of “hey, I got here first, survival of the fittest and all. Me, me, me and the rest of you be damned”. It’s sad, really.
I wish the stores limited quantities earlier in the game. A lot of the stores are doing that now, though. I think it’s good.

I can’t buy into this mentality that it’s ok to take whatever you want because after all, it’s America and you have the right to do what you want without regard for anyone else.

I saw something on facebook where an employer of a food establishment laid off his workers and had the nerve to say that if they didn’t have the means to survive a few weeks off without pay, it’s because they don’t know how to save money and plan ahead. Really?:(

I saw two dudes from SPb administration cabinet on a night tv show, answering the questions of citizens (about covid and consequences). They said that SPb "retailers" (meaning food store chains) have a 2-months supply of food in case of a total siege (like, during a war). But what's next?? (After two months)??
P.S... Geez🤦‍♀️: i've just written "fuud" instead of "food" (but i corrected it). This has to mean something.:hmm:
