Health Issues The Everything Covid 19 Thread

I had no effects from covid shot-arm sore when I woke up, but not later
Really glad I waited for the flu as that often causes a bit of a reaction
I did fine with the flu shot. Not a single issue...not even a sore arm.

I'm feeling a tiny bit achy now ...headache and my eyes burn. But it's not an issue at all. It's no worse than what I feel on any given day when I'm a little off.

I think I said I didn't get any reaction from the flu jab this time which is unusual for me as I normally feel very tired or like I have a high temperature afterwards. Anecdotally, from the other forum I'm on it seems like more people are getting that reaction this year.

I didn't realise that I could ask for an egg-free flu jab too as somebody on the forum told me that so I will do that next year.

I jinxed myself. Down for the count...body aches, chills, headache. I'll be in bed a good part of the day but I'm sure I'll feel better by evening. In the past the reaction never lasted more than 36 hours.

From flu jab? Or did you get both covid and flu the same time?
I now need to schedule a flu shot--that one I want the next day off!

We have had two confirmed covid cases in my office since Friday. Additionally, two people in my group went home feeling unwell today, though only one of them sits in our office.

I dread going in to the office tomorrow because I really cannot be sick right now.

Hope you are feeling better, @KLS52 !
I'm back from my Vegas trip, which was a blast, but both my sister and I caught something out there. Our friend Karen was fine, so we think whatever we have was caught on our bus trip to the Hoover Dam (Karen didn't go), as there was a person or two sneezing/coughing quite a bit. There weren't that many people on the bus, so we didn't mask up. Big mistake, lol. I did mask up on the plane to and from.

Anyway, so far, I've tested negative for COVID, but I will test again tomorrow. Whatever this is is all in the throat. I initially thought it was "Vegas throat." It happens every time I return from Vegas. I get a dry, irritated throat (not sore at all) and cough that sometimes results in laryngitis. The dry air and cigarette smoke in the casinos always does me in. But this time there was a lot of postnasal drip and more frequent coughing. So I'm just taking it easy for now. I feel fine otherwise: no fever, body aches, congestion, headache or anything like that. My appetite is fine. Just the annoying cough. I did sleep a lot the past few days, though I attributed that to the time change. I've had a runny nose, but my allergy medication is helping with that.

Covid Vaxx. I got the flu shot two weeks ago and did fine with that.

Back to normal today, thankfully. So weird how the reaction comes on then goes away so fast.

It is weird. It is maybe because we have fibromyalgia. I get a reaction normally, but didn't this year to the flu jab.

I tested again today for COVID, and it's still negative. So I think this is just an icky head cold. I do feel a bit better today, but the coughing remains an issue. My throat still feels irritated, and yesterday I nearly lost my voice. It seems to be a tad better today. I'm just going to relax the rest of the week. I'm supposed to visit friends on Sunday, so I hope I'm better than I am today. :)

I've tested positive for Covid. I've been ill since Tuesday morning, with symptoms that made me thought that I had caught it.
I've had it twice this year despite having had all my jabs.

Sending healing thoughts and also hoping for a mild case for you.

That is a pain after your nice holiday. Do you feel very ill with it?

I've been very ill since Tuesday morning up until this morning. The symptoms made me think that it was perhaps Covid. The test showed that it was positive.
I feel fine now and haven't lost my sense of taste like I did back in May.

@shyvas how frustrating! It does seem that travel is one way to catch it. When my daughter went to Italy last October, she and her two travel mates caught it despite all being fully vaccinated.

I still think the problem is that people aren't diligent with testing. They catch what they assume to be, the common cold. Or they will test the first day of symptoms and if it's negative, they don't bother to test again. It can take up to three days sometimes to test positive. So people are walking around with Covid spreading it to everyone else.
