Ugh, the nursing home called to tell me that my Dad has Covid. Their systems are down because of the global Microsoft outage, and they couldn’t call me until they could find my number on paper. He apparently told them that he was feeling very weak and tired last night, so they tested him and he was positive. He doesn’t have any other symptoms at the moment and even wanted to go outside this morning. He is so compromised and can’t take the medications for Covid because of kidney and heart issues, so I am hoping he can fight it off. He is also 89. They wouldn’t tell me how many cases they have, but I know it started last week with a couple of cases.
Any good vibes, thoughts, prayers, whatever you do would be much appreciated. Many thanks!
Hopefully your immune system is good and you will be fine.So now I have to sweat out a possible COVID exposure. I went up to New Hampshire yesterday for my great-nephew's birthday party (he's 8 now), and one of the attendees tested positive today for COVID. My sister and I both sat at the same table outside on a deck as the person who tested positive, and I stood next to the person inside when we did the cake and sang Happy Birthday to my great-nephew. I can't tell you how $#@#$% tired I am of this.
I did notice that this person was coughing a bit, but she's a heavy smoker, so I attributed her coughing to the smoking. Luckily, she didn't cough near me, but we did talk to each other. I'm supposed to have company in two weeks from out of state, and I so hope I don't get the ^%$#!!@#$ virus and have to cancel everything. We are supposed to go to a concert while they are here along with a few breweries. I hope my sister and everybody else at the party escapes it as well.
Thank you! Yes, I am hoping to escape it. It's just so tiring having it be so potentially disruptive. So far everyone from the party is OK, but it's only been two days, so we'll see.Hopefully your immune system is good and you will be fine.
My son in law was in NYC all week on business and came home Saturday feeling really sick. He keeps testing negative...his most recent test was this morning and he already feels better. My daughter was flipping out because they are going on vacation in ten days. But so far so good.
I'm mad that I didn't go for another Covid booster in April. I've been directly exposed a few times and keep managing to avoid it. I don't want to get the booster now because I'd rather get it in October with the flu shot (not directly together but two weeks apart). There seems to be an uptick in covid cases though and I do not mask when I go anywhere. I have to decide what I want to do.
Thank you so much. He is definitely a trooper! And I hope your that son-in-law is doing better and that the vacation goes on as planned. I was supposed to hang with a friend on Thursday, but she's been ill with either the flu or RSV or something. She has tested three times for COVID, and it's been negative.@PTree15 good to hear that your dad is feeling better...he's a trooper!!
Haley had it a week or so ago. She said it was awful!Covid is alive and well. My oldest daughter has it. She's feeling pretty sick from it although no fever. But she has body aches and chills.
Still use the expired test kit until you get a new test kit LouMy sister came home from Mexico on saturday and tested positive.on Monday. I was there when she got back and now my nose won't stop running. I don't have any tests that aren't expired. And my digital thermometer needs new batteries. I may be able to get a test kit this afternoon.
Day nine and my daughter is still down for the count.
