Thank you for your thoughts Now that our Internet connection works again, I've been able to do some more research that I couldn't do on my phone. Wikipedia says it's a cult movie:I saw it a long time ago and don't remember much about it. Just that I thought it was okay, nothing great.
Surely that is a sign of quality of some sort?!Despite being delayed for two years and having a very limited theatrical release, the film received much critical acclaim and has since garnered a strong cult following.[3]
I'm really picky when it comes to horror movies, so mine may not be the best opinion to listen to.
I loved the movie Halloween, but only the first original one. The rest are horrible. The same goes for Hellraiser.
For cult movies, I like The Evil Dead, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Donnie Darko and The Blair Witch Project.
I hate slasher and gore porn type movies. I've never seen any of the Saw movies.
Also loved Misery and the original Shining.
I think that shows kind of how my taste in horror movies runs.
It was the 70's version of a slasher movie, so there wasn't a lot of blood. It was more suspenseful. I hated the headboard tombstone scene, it didn't seem very plausible, or maybe I just didn't get it/ understand it.Was the first Halloween not a slasher flick or no? I haven't watched one of them all the way through - only have seen parts of probably all of them. I don't really go for slasher or 'gore porn' either. LOL (I love that term, though!)
Love all those cult films you mention. The original Shining - possibly better than the book even!
You have a similar scary movie taste as me!I'm really picky when it comes to horror movies, so mine may not be the best opinion to listen to.

OH- Dedalus.... I remember seeing excerpts from this short on TV quite some time ago and googled for it:
Have fun! (although you've probably seen it). I'll have to watch the whole thing when I have my headphones with me.
Unfortunately not a great picture, but you get the idea ... We have pumpkins! And those little lights over the TV are little ghosts. The big pumpkin on the right was carved by yours truly, the middle one belongs to Jen and the little one on the left is little miss Summer's. She's having a Halloween party this afternoon with some of her friends.
