TV & Film The Walking Dead

I think I see it differently because the human violence is realistic whereas the zombie stuff isn't. People are tortured, brutally beaten, viciously attacked and murdered everyday . It's something that has happened, is happening and will continue happening. So when I see human violence and gore on tv or in movies I sometimes have trouble watching it because I know that those situations are real. Zombies swipping their faces on barbwired fences not so much.

I'm anxious to see what happens tomorrow night. It's just going to suck so bad to have to wait until October .
I probably won't watch the last episode until Monday or Tuesday. I want to see what this Terminus is all about. It weirded me out that none of the doors were gated shut, there were no guards . . .

one more comment on BB. I was more upset with the mind games and the manipulation than with any of the violence. What Walter did to Jesse was terrible. Manipulation like that is scary. I like it that there is so little of that with TWD. I mean yeah that mayor guy tricked some people, but they didn't exactly think to question him either.

.... oh wait I think I got ahead of myself. Never mind. Terminus is probably just a big mind f*ck!

That Mayor Guy. I'm going to start calling him that from now on! :P

As for tonight's episode, did anyone see the Philippines teaser? It had a lot more footage in it than what we got, pointing to the inclusion of a certain, very horrific storyline from the comics. I won't say any more as not to potentially spoil anyone, and I lost the link, but you can probably find it easily enough if you look for it.

Yes and I really hope they don't go there but it looks like they just might according to that teaser trailer.

Many people have predicted and are expecting the thing you say.....
and ... OMG .... that was some first half hour!

Well when they kidnapped Beth, my first thought is that they are collecting all the young women they can to impregnate them. Guess I'll see how close I was to that guess.

I'll come back here after I've watched it tomorrow. It doesn't go online until then.

Throughout the whole second half of the episode, I just kept going, "they are cannibals. They are so obviously cannibals."

I mean, "when someone becomes a part of you, you grow stronger"?

!?!?!?

Now, a day after the episode, I just keep going, "they are cannibals. They are so obviously cannibals."

I thought the whole episode was fantastic. There was one scene though that I do have to gripe about and that was the very last scene . More specifically, the very last line. I knew what Rick was going to say , but I really wanted him to say something else. I know that he couldn't have said it, but damn that last scene would have been so much more powerful if he said , "They just FUCKED with the wrong people!"

I KNEW that poncho looked familiar in the previous episode. Whose was it?

Also, this episode makes me feel good about standing up for Carl (I had an argument last week with someone about him!). I love the Carl/Michonne friendship.

Just when you start to think he's totally worthless, they like to slip in a subtle reminder here and there that if you **** off Rick, he just might eat your throat and/or gut you.

I was traumatized by that movie as a kid too! I hate all the zombie stuff, I have to admit. (Should be in unpopular opinion thread, I know!)

And The Birds movie omg. Then I saw The Exorcist and later The Omen, and decided no more scary/gory movies for me!

ETA I haven't seen The Walking Dead show and probably never will. I read this thread sometimes though. :)

I typically do not go for shows with this much gore. I missed the first season because of that. But then I accidently caught a show and (or it was on and I was too lazy to change it or doing something else) and the story-line really grabbed me. I can put up with it when the story is this good. But I agree that because it is zombie based it is much easier. There is a definite disconnect with the real world.

When I was a kid I saw the movie 'Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things.' I was so scared I had to turn the TV off.
I watched near to the end hoping for a happy ending or at least someone to survive - but I just couldn't take it anymore. They just kept coming.... (Years later I watched again and realized there is no happy ending.)
