TV & Film The Walking Dead

Okay, I didn't really like this episode as it was completely ridiculous! Very contrived. We were just making sarcastic comments throughout. Oh well, I did like the rocket launcher bit.

ETA - rocket launcher, or whatever the correct name for that thing was...

So the only part of the episode you liked was the one thing they didn't take straight from the panels of the comic book lol

I just thought it was so silly the way the main group all came together at the end as the separate storylines had dragged out so much. Also one minute it was light and the next minute pitch black! I just read other people thought the same thing.:D

Meh, I'm still looking forward to the next episode.:)

I liked it because
it was just like a Hallmark movie. I didn't care about the people who died. My favorites live to see another episode and everyone is all together again. Nice. Happy. Ending. Hahahahahaha. [\spoiler]

What happened was exactly what was supposed to happen to the letter. The show writers didn't have to put much effort into the episode at all, they just went along faithful to the source material. The only thing that was kind of a bummer was there was so little difference in how they did it on the show that I could have given a play by play before even seeing the episode. I like it when they follow things the way they happened in the comic book, but I also like it when there's a twist that I couldn't have predicted by being a comic reader. That whole thing is just straight out of the pages of issue #83 period.

Actually I'm going to do something I probably should do and share with you all the experience of seeing a shocking scene unfold as a reader. Kirkman please go easy on me, don't press charges! Lol

Here we go... 12 panels from issue #83

And now a little bit of explanation... Douglas = Dianna, and they split Ron into two characters with Ron and Sam. I guess since Carl is older in the show at this point they wanted to keep the unraveling aspect of the scene yet also have a character around the same age as TV Carl... In the comic it is Douglas that accidentally shoots Carl, but ultimately goes down in much the same way as Dianna.

This is interesting...my son just watched it and came upstairs. I asked what he thought. He does not read the comics or spoilers and while he liked the episode a lot he said something was off, like it played out like a comic. I knew what he meant because I felt it at times but I figured it was because I read the spoilers. I told him that everyone was saying this episode played out just like the comic.
I still loved it. I actually want to watch it again.

Yeah, and I figured posting those twelve panels might really help people kind of visualize better exactly what they have to work with in translating it to the show. They take a lot of creative liberties with it, but some panels from the comic are just way too iconic to not follow. This was such a scene that made us comic readers jump up and down when we first read the panels.... Kirkman loves to do that to us, things that are down right shocking. Like Rick biting the marauder in the throat a couple seasons back... Too iconic a moment not to do for TV... Now this.... Next big moments they will do pretty closely to the comic will likely be introducing Jesus (SOON!), and their first encounter with Negan himself in the season finale.

I love the new character. Someone spoiler (if necessary) me whether or not this person is going to be good or bad. Looks hopeful, so far.

Richonne! I couldn't be bothered to wait until tonight. I really liked this episode. I enjoy the slower ones.:) Rick seemed to get over Jessie very quickly!

ETA Oh crap. I just read a spoiler elsewhere about what will happen.:dismay:
