ProPublica is out here doing god's work! I've been a fan of them for a long time, really excellent journalism!

Even worse, they are just rounding up immigrants with tattoos…

article said:
"NEW: @MotherJones reports that one of the men renditioned to El Salvador is Neri Alvarado, who was working in Dallas as a baker. An ICE agent told him they were questioning all men with tattoos. Neri has an AUTISM AWARENESS TATTOO in honor of his 15-year-old brother with autism," noted Reichlin-Melnick. "An ICE agent told Neri Alvarado 'We're finding and questioning everyone who has tattoos,' and that's why he was arrested. Stunningly, after Neri explained his autism tattoos' meanings, THE ICE AGENT SAID HE WAS CLEAN. And yet he stayed detained — then got sent to El Salvador!"

I am encouraged by the number of protesters that turned out around the country yesterday! My co-worker (the only liberal one I know of) told me her husband was going to one. It looks like DeLand had a good turnout from the pictures I have seen posted.

I made an appointment at our department of motor vehicles for the verified REAL ID to make sure I can vote in the next elections. I know it's good to have regardless, but I'm annoyed that they are making it an issue for married women who changed their name when they got married. Fortunately, I have my birth certificate, social security card and marriage license handy. I tend to lose things/important papers. I wonder how many other women are going to have a problem.

Can I get into Canada with just a real ID or do I need something additional?

I got the Real ID a while ago. Maybe they were first required around the time I had to renew my license. I am thinking about getting a passport though I would probably never use it. I should change back to my maiden name but what a big hassle that is!

I should have done it in 2020 when I moved to Connecticut since I had to get a new license anyway. 🤦🏻‍♀️
