The Gun Club is a good one. They were one of the chief influences on one of my favorite singers, Mark Lanegan.

Jeffrey Lee Pierce is one of those great tragic vocalists. I'll have to check out Lanegan more closely. The slide guitar playing here - and in general the guitar tone and tempo of this record in particular was hugely influential on me. They are authentic as ****. Dark, straightforward, simple - almost like they didnt' write these songs - they bled them out.
