I have to say I love quinoa and I had to have another one for dinner. I'm so excited about these burgers.

Those really do sound good, and I've yet to open that bag of quinoa. I bought it with every intention of eating better. Even with my arthritis flaring so badly I'm still eating a lot of processed and salty and sugary foods 🥺
I have a lot of lentils too!
 
I wonder if I did a flax egg if it would have held them together better. Maybe I'll do that next time.

They do call for flaxseed or chia seeds.
Did you let the mix sit in the fridge to absorb and firm up?
I'm going to make an effort to make these tomorrow!

I always go rogue initially but it was an oversight about refrigerating it. And I was in a hurry to get it done. I don't wait well. I'll try that next time...which will probably be today. I have extra cooked quinoa and lentils so might as well use it up.

my son wanted to make chili his way, so soaked enough beans for me to make mine too. He like smoky chili peppers, which I can't handle, and really don't like-like chipotles, he even toasts them first.
I dont know if I want chili yet. Now I want to try that quinoa burger recipe!

I may make Black & White cookies from Isa's book. Not that I'd do the half & half frosting , but if they're anything close to what remember them being like I'm craving them!

(about @KLS52 's Lentil Quinoa Meatloaf burgers) I've liked quinoa ever since I first had it. But I've always loved spinach, and I think Quinoa has a "spinach-ey" taste. I'm rather fond of the edible weed Lamb's-Quarters for a similar reason.

That is so interesting! I love spinach, raw or steamed, and never associated it with quinoa. TBH, I forget what it tastes like. I remember disliking the texture mostly
 
I don’t think I notice a quinoa “taste” either. But I love the texture especially if it’s crunchy. I’ve been putting it in my salads and soups. I’m glad I like it.

I like spinach too. Been having a lot of spinach/kale salads the last few weeks. And I like it cooked/steamed too.

Made the black & white cookies I've been wanting to make. I didn't do the white frosting though, but I did powdered sugar with cocoa & coffee liqueur. I think they'll be better tomorrow to kinda firm up. Probably should have baked longer.

Ate too much sugar as is today and feeling a bit of vertigo, or somethings making me unbalanced. Ate some beans and feel a bit better
Is that a bad sign? :worried:
 
More lentil quinoa burgers! This time I did flax egg and refrigerated it before shaking the patties. They look better but we will see what happens when I flip them, haha.

Nope...falling apart. But you know what...I may just throw the rest in the pan like a scramble because it's that tasty and I can eat it in any way shape or form. 😍

l'm reading the recipe again and can't see how they wouldn't fall apart! :hmm: Did you use breadcrumbs or oats?
I so dislike veggie burgers that either crumble or worse, are pasty
Thinking of doing potatoes au gratin, with spinach, and maybe a cashew creme sauce,

The cookies I made the other day are better today! The frosting is firm. They would be much better with some nutmeg in the cookie

I used breadcrumbs…I HATE pasty and that always seems to happen when I use oats. These are crumbly but I love that they are dry/crispy…I know it sounds weird. It’s hard to explain. I’m just really excited about them. They will easily go in a bun with no problem. But I did do the second batch all crumbly in the pan and decided it will make for an excellent stuffed pepper! So now I’m going to run to the store and get the red/yellow peppers and stuff a few. I’m beyond happy/satisfied with this recipe even though it’s a failure as actual burgers.
