You'll want to double-check this- but as I understand it, your best bet is to somehow "skunk-proof" your place. I'm glad the one giving you problems is now gone, but there are probably others in your immediate area. The best long-term and permanent solution is to make your place seem unsuitable to a skunk looking to move in.

I got a guy coming out next week to help me with that, he's going to dig some mesh into the ground, Is there anything more I can do?
Wildlife management agencies often aren't the most animal-friendly organizations, but they do often have experience with animals who may become a nuisance. You could go on Mississippi's conservation / fish and game department website and see if they have any ideas for preventing skunks from settling in.
