Yep, mostly in the winter. I prefer fresh tomatoes, but when they aren't available, I use canned crushed tomatoes, usually a 28-ounce can, with tomato paste, a small can of tomato sauce, veggie broth, brown sugar, basil, garlic and onions (sautéed first with the garlic) and a bay leaf. I usually make it in the crockpot, so it slow-cooks for 6 to 8 hours.I've been wanting apple pie since apple season started back in late August!
