Whatcha Eatin?

People on the other forum I'm on were chatting about what they are making for xmas eve dinner. I didn't know people did anything special for today.

I just had two Aldi Rosie the Reindeer crumpets with vegan butter and raspberry jam.

We often had Chinese takeout on Christmas Eve for something easy after days of making cookies, pies and prepping for Christmas dinner. I'm not planning on that this year, as there aren't really any good Chinese restaurants in my town. They are all pretty mediocre. My favorite Chinese place is in Rhode Island. :) So I'm not sure what I am having tonight.

Right now, I'm having an English muffin with peanut butter and raspberry jam and my first cup of coffee in two weeks.

I usually have a roast (nut roast ect) for Christmas eve dinner. Over here in California most of the people are having meat lasagne for their Christmas eve dinner.
My cousin with whom I`m staying is taking us out to the Country Club for Christmas eve lunch so I don`t think that we will be hungry for dinner. However you never know as their vegan menu is either a small hit or miss.

I hope you get something that's halfway decent.

Yesterday`s lunch was a bowl of mole style black bean & sweet potato chilli topped with guac/Tofutti
and a sprinkle of Tajin plus a slice of ww artisan style sourdough black olive bread and spread.

The day before we had guests so I made some pasties stuffed with a mushroom/chesnut/onion filling, a roast baby
beetroot/kale, spinach, rocket, persimmon, croutons with Kite Hill cheeze spread/pu;pkin seeds, walnuts and Dijon dressing.
Warm black cherry and blueberry crumble and Silk heavy cream.

I just made our dinner. I had vegan sausages, roast potatoes, vegan pigs in blankets, broccoli, parsnips and gravy. A bread roll and vegan butter too. It cooked really quickly as I did most of it in the air fryer! :D

Sounds delicious. It will be the first time that I won`t be having a traditional roast Christmas dinner. I`m really craving a nut roast with all the trimmings plus a delicious Christmas pudding.:worried:

So another miss. I had the brisket Asian basket without the latter. They added a few chunks of fried and insipid tofu all served without either any sauce or seasoning. When I asked whether the chef could make me some kind of a sauce, the waiter bought me a sweet jarred sauce that was flavourless.:worried:

For Christmas eve dinner, I had some leftover mole style black bean and sweet potato chili with avocadoes, lime Tofutti and Tajin.
Breyer`s
ice cream for dessert. Everything was so tasty but didn`t have that Christmas feeling.
