Why the Left Need Guns

Who’s Getting Rich off the Prison-Industrial Complex? - VICE

This is about the prison industrial complex, but you can guarantee those rich folk are getting rich off the military industrial complex too. The weapons and military corporations I listed are just that.. corporations.. they are run for profit and often have wealthy, well known names as their executives.. like the Murdochs.. the Mays... and others.

Big money behind war: the military-industrial complex

Wikipedia shows a number of the corporations, again these are corporations fuelled by elite money and are run at a profit.

Anyway I am aware these posts I have made might be questioned by many.I guess each of us have the right to our own opinions, and to do our own research.

I dont have any solutions and dont know what to do about it.. what I feel is the right thing to do is focus locally. Focus on local community... whoever is there.. family, friends, other local born people, immigrants, homeless people, refugees.. whoever is there... focussing on local environmental issues and resources, local laws... that is perhaps the power that every person has... though it is a difficult world the way it is set up.

Punching Richard Spencer in the head ended that interview he was having with an Aussie journalist who was allowing his hateful rhetoric to go unchallenged and prevented him from attending the Women's March the following day. The violence at UC Berkeley prevented Milo from outing undocumented students, among other things.

I meant to ask yesterday, but I got sidetracked. :DWas Richard Spencer supposed to speak at the Women's March?

No.
“I was planning to go out tomorrow during the Women’s March to do some journalism but I can’t do that anymore,” Spencer told viewers. “I have reached a stage of being a public figure where I am going to be recognised and then be attacked."

I think it must be such a cultural difference between here and the US, over here the majority of the police force aren't even armed.....
I suppose so. I've heard that police in the UK aren't armed- well, at least not as heavily as police in the U.S. are. I can't help thinking that if our police tried that, it would be pretty much a suicide mission for many police officers. I visited the UK and Ireland back in 2000 and didn't really have interactions with the police; I was taking in quite a lot (as I'd never been over there) and never really noticed differences between law enforcement people there and here.

I didn't say that forum members are in danger (although some are). I said that some forum members are very much outraged about the danger other people are being put into.

A partial list of the people being put into danger are:

Undocumented immigrants. There's a big roundup that is planned - 8 million to start with.
(Mischief's post only partially quoted) What to do with undocumented immigrants has been in the news quite a bit in my area. My take on this: maybe the U.S.'s immigration quotas should be raised. But having such a large number of undocumented residents in the country would seem to be a problem, even if the security threat from possible terrorists among this group is being exaggerated.

Sorry, I didn't respond to you, I only just saw this. It's only as I was reading about the Las Vegas shooting today on an American forum and did a search on VV.

I agree. I have said before that I think you would have to be quite brave to be a police officer in the US with all the people who must be armed, especially in the big cities?

What's a sensible reaction is addressing gun control and communities.
A gun is a reasonable reaction to home burgleries and walking alone. Wouldn't do most people any good in a mass shooting.
Instead we have a president ready to profile non caucasions while calling shaming those calling for gun control "politicizing the situation":mad::mad:
What has anyone heard of the Colorado Walmart shooting? The middle aged white guy? Isolated situation, like Vegas?

In the simplest possible of terms:

I wouldn't want a gun. I don't think just anyone should be able to go get a gun. It's obviously not a good thing.

However, I also believe that a leftist uprising would require actual weapons to take power.

It's a complicated issue, who'da thunk.
