Space Sciences Black holes: what are your thoughts?

Einstein didn't think BHs could form, I don't think.

Yeah, and Hawking and most modern scientists find it strange that he ignored his own equations' say in the matter.

Einstein also believed in a steady-state Universe, which, with our current knowledge, would just be ridiculous. He was a smart guy, incredibly smart, beyond anything I could even personally imagine right now, but everyone makes mistakes.

I think one thing he didn't like about black holes was infinity. Like infinite density; I don't think he thought it belonged in the natural world.

the whole thing frightens me a bit. It seems so intuitively right the BHs don't form in the mainstream way, yet people really react against the idea. It is just so convenient, mathematically to assume that all the matter collapses to a point that, that people are like a dog with a bone, and won't let go.

I wish I has the brains and the education to present a more healthy model.

If I won the lottery I would like to get all the people who are opposed to the idea of event-horizon/singularity BHs to work together on alternative models.....I think the key may be computer simulations of collapsing objects, and see what happens more holistically.

I don't do the lotto, but you never know, I might decide to get a ticket one day.
