Nutrition & Diet Going on a diet (weight loss)

I don't know what's up with my sleep schedule this past week.

First, I had the bad day early last week. So I was tired for a few days, despite getting average sleep the rest of the week. Then I got extra sleep three nights in a row, Thursday through Saturday nights, around 9-11 hours per night. So I got caught up and felt better.

But then last night, I woke up after 5 hours of sleep and couldn't fall back asleep. But I'm not really that tired today, so I think it might just be a response to the extra sleep the previous days. It's like I stored up the extra sleep over the weekend and didn't need as much last night.

Anyway, the diet's on track. No soda over the weekend, and I managed my snacking and meals properly, so if I can manage my sleep better, I should be on track. And I've been getting a little exercise here and there, going out walking and stuff, though nothing huge lately.

Have you tried matcha in smoothies? I've been adding a teaspoon to my morning smoothie and it really gives me a smooth alertness. No jitters. While it's hard to just mix in water, adding to a smoothie, even in a crappy blender, is nice and doesn't affect the taste too much

I gave up all sugary drinks cold turkey about 4 years ago, and haven't looked back. At first I was tired a lot, but after a while of pushing through it balanced out. A lot of the tiredness was a sugar crash - so I had to get used to it. You can do it :D

My good nights sleep is long gone by the time I get off work!
I've been trying to make myself do just any exercise throughout the day, and walking at breaks.
I do love sitting on a couch and eating myself into a carb coma....

I took melatonin before going to bed for a couple of months, and it seems to have reset my ability to sleep soundly.
