How to keep bugs off the plants

⦁ Instead of trying to treat the problem, look at the root causes.
⦁ With slugs for example, you have an habitat that allows them to thrive.
⦁ Nature is remarkable at healing herself. Gardeners should imitate nature instead of going against it.
⦁ Intensify diversity instead of growth, such as using intercopping, polyculture, succession planting, companion planting and also growing ornimentals asides edibles.
⦁ Using a mesh net when growing large amounts of one single plant in one place.
⦁ Beneficial predatory insects or amphibia. For example a water feature can encourage frogs and toads into the garden. Or allow a bit to go wild to get more nettles to lure ladybugs.
⦁ Flowers that attract butterflies that helps with polynation. It's beneficial to grow more flowers in the garden. Daisy family brings in wasps and wasps eat pests. Lavender, to confuse some pest insects. The more fowers the better.
⦁ Rotation doesn't really happen in nature, instead succession does. Use rotation only if you get desease or pest issue.
⦁ Respect soil and use no-dig gardening. Healthy soil means healthy plants. Try not to distub the micro organism in your soil. Growing garden is growing soil.

I got these tips from Huw Richards from YouTube. His content is amazing.
