Hummus is awful.

I have to be on the mood for hummus and usually roasted red pepper....I like it on sammies or wraps and w/veggies or chips....I buy it and eat it the first day and usually have to force myself to eat the rest...lol...

peace:)

You know as much as I love hummus I have to agree with those who say that it can get old pretty fast. When I'm in the mood for it... watch out... but after a while I can barely force myself to finish what I've made.

No. There is no middle ground/fence sitting in this debate.

You either love it or hate it. Choose your side carefully.

I prefer hummus with less tahini. My favorite is "Greek style" with lots of garlic and lemon, or the spicy/hot flavors. When I make it at home, I always go light on the tahini.
I don't like Sabra, but I do like Tribe.

I like both Sabra and Tribe. Hummus is like guacamole or even ketchup. You have to get the right brand or it's gross.

Forget this making your own stuff. No time for that! :p

The best hummus comes from Middle Eastern restaurants/delis. Best. 2nd best is Sabra Pine Nut or Olive. I tried the TJ and Cedar brands before that, they are NASTY.

[Now what starts with the letter H?
Hummus starts with H
Let's think of other things
That starts with H
Oh, who cares about the other things?]

H is for hummus, that's good enough for me
H is for hummus, that's good enough for me H is for hummus, that's good enough for me
Oh, hummus, hummus, hummus starts with H

repeat...

There... I hope this song gets stuck in all the hummus haters heads today.
:p

Even at Middle Eastern restaurants there will be variation. One place I go to makes their hummus with a lot of tahini, another I go to uses only a little tahini. There is a huge difference in flavor.

I like TJ's hummus, but I think Sabra is disgusting.

I used to love it but I've gone off it, I don't like the aftertaste from the garlic. I think if I made my own it would be better because I could leave it out...lemon and coriander flavour is good, though. :p

I bought tribe garlic style because it was only a buck fifty and it was ok. Mine is way better.
