TV & Film Movie Lounge

last night we watched a very interesting documentary on Netflix - Unknown: Cave of Bones - fascinating! and we also watched The Lake House with Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock - watched it in the past and enjoyed it again although sometimes it is hard to track

I watched another horror called Becky last night. It starred Kevin James (The King of Queens) as a bad guy which is weird as I have only seen him in comedy roles. I liked it, although very gory at times.

I miss Avengers. I would like to see those movies again, but I can't right now.
I did find some of those on YouTube. Those are fun, but I can't understand a word, since those are dubbed in Hindi or something.

A while ago we were talking about Missing Persons Movies.
Just now I watched Searching. The story was pretty good. Even when I had all the clues I didn't put them together right. But the best part of the movie was the Story Telling. Instead of being like a regular movie the entire story was told thru things on the computer screen, IMs, FaceTime and video recordings. I thought it was novel and very well implemented. Clever.
👍 👍

I just watched Missing.
I guess I knew it was a sequel to Searching but I was still surprised when in the beginning of of Missing they show what I guess is a the end of a docudrama of the events in Searching. A clever but cheap tie-in. They even circle back to it.

Missing uses all the same narrative tools that Searching had. FaceTime, voicemails, IMs, google searches and video camera stuff.

The story has twists and turns and I couldn't guess what was going on till the very end. Afterwards I was thinking back on the events and it seems like it all hangs together really well.

👍 👍

I was just in a shop and the people were going on and on about Barbie! The man working there said people keep coming in and buying anything pink to wear to the see the film.

I knew I wanted to see it as soon as I saw the first trailer.
It has been getting great reviews.
