TV & Film Movie Lounge

We don't have much to do this weekend so we are hopefully going to watch Equalizer 2 and Insidious Red Door at home.

We watched Insidious: The Red Door yesterday. It was okay, not really scary. My husband jumped a lot at one bit.

Then I rewatched M3GAN afterwards.

I had read online a recommendation for How To Talk To Girls At Parties. (2017)
The reviewer made a point that the title had little or nothing to do with the movie.

The film is an adaption of a Neil Gaiman short story. I don't always like Neil Gaiman's stuff but the stuff I like - I really like.

Elle Fanning is in the movie and I didn't recognize her. Not even after I saw her name in the credits.

The movie's setting is the London, 70s, Punk Rock scene. It takes a little while to get going and then it gets really weird. The ending also takes a long time to finish up - but the conclusion is worth it.

IMDB gave it a 5.7. I won't recommend it unless you are a big fan of Elle Fanning, or Neil Gaiman, or 70s London punk.

not sure if this goes in the TV lounge or here - watched Live to 100: Secrets of the Blue Zones - all four episodes last night and it was fascinating... makes me want to find a small town and try to get them to buy into being a Blue Zones

we watched an old movie last night from the '90s - The Mirror Has Two Faces - hadn't seen it before and really enjoyed it - so many stars, Streisand, Bacal, Brosnan, Bridges, Vaccaro, Segal.... it was fun

We saw The Equalizer 3 at the cinema yesterday which was good, but predictable. I have seen the first two films only recently so I wanted to see the third one. Those films are watchable, but they follow an obvious pattern. I think this one was as good as the first film.

We just watched Talk to Me which is a horror film that got very good reviews. It was very creepy at first, but was much more gory than I would have expected.

Oh yes, Talk to me reminded me a bit of Flatliners about half way through.

A film come up on my phone today, probably as I watched a film with Denzel in it, The Little Things and we started that tonight. It is a thriller/serial killer film.
