Barbie was great. More intense than I expected. It's the nostalgia, woman power and the fact it is making a certain group of people very angry.
Haha, thank you. Like Chryssie, I wasn't understanding all the hype. Still not sure I want to see it, though. :D I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I didn't notice that - which hosts? which night?

The night that Barbie came out.

Last night we watched Searching and it was fascinating - we do not have Missing on Netflix as yet so may have to wait unless everyone thinks it is worth paying to rent it.

um.. Friday night they had a special. Sunday Jen was wearing blue. Monday, Rachel was wearing black (like always). and I don't record the other shows. Still, I would have liked to see that. :)

I think you can just wait. I'm sure it will be on Netflix North soon.
one thing... you realize pretty fast when watching Missing is that they are using the same template as Searching - but just the mirror image.
also you know the twists are coming - but not what they are. and you are pretty sure they won't use the same twists. But I'm pretty sure you will be surprised at the end.

As it turns out Missing has been such a big hit, it inspired a Collider article: a list of 13 Best Movies About Missing Persons.

Missing is one of this year's most anticipated thrillers and has had an impressive box office run since its release on January 20th. The movie is a modern take on a missing person's case that relies on the digital world of the internet and social media but still sticks to the common tropes of a classic mystery.
I was just saying about Bosch and The Lincoln Lawyer on the TV thread. I googled the lead actor from Bosch and he is in Gone Baby Gone and it reminded me of the missing person's films in that list. I am about to watch it.

I could not get into Gone Baby Gone at all.

We watched the first episode of the new Strange New Worlds instead. I was reading that they are doing a musical episode like they did in Buffy.

I'd add the Moonlighting episode to this list

I watched Heart of Stone last night on Netflix.

It just hit Netflix yesterday. I thought I saw some good early reviews of it. But just checking and most of the reviewers didn't care for it.
I didn't like it either.
Not that I hated it. But it wasn't a good movie. I felt like they were trying to be a James Bond movie. But I feel that fell way short.
Can an action movie have too much action? I think this movie did.
I'll give it a 3 out of 5.

My wife and I just watched it, and thought that much of it was even better than the average Bond movie (and I‘m a big Bond movie fan)

To each his own.
Roger Ebert gave it one star
Rotten tomatoes gave it 3.1 out of 5
IMDB gave it 5.7 out of 10

However you are in luck. Dollars to donuts there will be a sequel.
