TV & Film Movie Lounge

Just watched a new Bruce Willis movie called Catch .44.
It wasn't awful, but it also wasn't very good.
They were trying too hard to make some type of avaunt-gard movie, and they missed.

Opps, typo. I meant it wasn't too bad. I just have a hard time suspending belief with zombie and time travel movies. They are just sooooooo illogical, my brain keeps trying to make sense of them and it's hard to just watch the movie.

I love time travel movies. :p I know they're silly, but I like them precisely for that reason. I think it's fun thinking about the possibility of time travel. :D

Yes.

I always have to keep reminding myself that for what I interpret as inconsistencies, I couldn't possibly know the truth either way, given that no one has ever actually time traveled. It differs for me, though, in that I love time travel stuff.

Similar note - just picked up the DVD trilogy collection of Back to the Future, which might be the worst offender of all. There's supposedly a special feature titled "The Physics of Back to the Future." I hope they're referring to the fact that all the actors and props were affected by gravity, because the movies themselves are a disaster of logical inconsistencies. Gotta love 'em, though...

How do you know? Thousands of people might have. Maybe they all made the classical blunder, traveled back in time, and destroyed or split the original timeline*, thereby nullifying the trip.

*Even if you did absolutely nothing when you traveled into the past your mere presence would alter things and create a new timeline either destroying the timeline you came from or making it impossible for you to return to the exact timeline you came from (split).

I'm currently writing a movie script about a time traveling sentient sunflower plant that was sent from the past by a young Elvis Presley in order to warn surfers about shark riding zombie Nazis that are currently frozen in an iceberg that has just split off from the North Pole and is on a collision course with the California coastline.
The entire story is totally logical and based on not yet discovered suppressed war documentation - so it's totally believable.

I just got a headache reading that.

I interwove some of my real experiences with growing sunflower plants into the script -- so it's also based on a true story!

Truth!

Or, they could've done it so slick that we never noticed it (ex. replacing the people on the Titanic with lab-grown, non-sentient clones, and hauling the live people to safety), or - even worse - they could've been the problem (ex. the Titanic only sank because of the weight of all the time travelers).

Just watched Batman the Lego Movie. It wasn't quite as riveting as the Christian Bale Batman movies
- this doesn't mean I'm going to stop watching the occasional kiddy movie though (I get them from the library).

Darling Campanion with Diane Keaton.

A husband loses the family dog whilst taking it out for a walk in the woods.

Tears came to my eyes when the dog was eventually found and came running towards Diane. That is surely true love !

I don't do dog movies.
I can happily watch people being butchered all day long on screen, but dog movies usually upset me.
