Sabotage, featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger.

So, for the former governor to come back to the silver screen, might we assume that it must be an extremely awesome movie that finally could tempt him to reprise his old career?

Nah. I guess that only a lot of money was involved, as the movie is *not* anything I would endorse.

Weak story, glaring holes in the logic, and nowhere near as intellectually (or otherwise) stimulating as any of his former "Terminator" movies. Hell, even "Commando" and "Collateral Damage" had better scripts, and this should already raise your alarms...

Black Sea, featuring Jude Law as submarine captain hunting for a sunk u-boat full of Nazi treasure.

Just so-so, if you do like submarines and/or Jude Law, give it a try.

The Grand Seduction.

Funny movie about a small Newfoundland fishing harbour (NOT "village") trying to entice a doctor to take up residence there in order to be eligible for having a recycling plant built to create jobs.

Overall very nice movie, apart from very few scenes where dead fishes are cut apart :-/

Andy

Which one? The new one???
IMO the old ones were pretty mental, too ... hmm, must get those on DVD at some point in time....
The new one. Haven't seen the old ones, so I guess that's why I found it so crazy. Hadn't a clue what I was about to witness.

AAAH, Raggle, you're simply too young :)

Mad Max, the original movie, was the movie that catapulted an unknown Australian B-movie actor named "Mel Gibson" to worldwide fame.

Believe me, those old movies (1979 to 1985) were quite iconic and are likely still a lot of fun watching (especially Tina Turner in "Beyond the Tunderdome"). Must see whether I can get them on DVD....

I love the original Mad Max, haven't seen the new one. I think I've only seen bits and pieces of Thunderdome, but I love the Tina Turner song.

Saw the new Cinderella yesterday.

Nice movie!

Of course, I might rather have watched the new Mad Max instead, but I guess my wife liked Cinderella better.
Still, Maleficent is still the best recent Disney fairy-tale-remake in my opinion :-)

Saw "Kingsman: The Secret Service" with my wife yesterday :)

I really liked it, very funny movie.
Apart from some gratuitous violence which my wife did not appreciate, she also enjoyed the experience.

The movie is in the tradition of classic James Bond or similar movies where a single secret agent needs to foil the bad villain's plan to dominate (or - in this case - de-populate) the world, filmed after a comic book, and really very overdone and funny. And, well, it has Colin Firth and Samuel L. Jackson (as bad guy).

And an awesome villain's sidekick, "Gazelle", who has the rather inappropriate habit of slicing people in half with her special prostethic legs.

Best regards,
Andy
