TV & Film Movie Lounge

Me too! My husband was a librarian before his injury, and years ago before kids, we watched all of Hitchcock's films from the library's videotapes (pre-DVD era lol). We had seen some before of course, but watched them all chronologically. Strangers on a Train was great.

I have watched them all and enjoyed most of them. He was really brilliant and considering that many of them were filmed in the 40's and 50's, he really mastered all the techniques so perfectly well. Off course, Gary Grant starred in so many of his films which also added to the ambiance !!!!
I also have a huge VHS collection and I'm seriously thinking of buying a dvd player.

My favourite 3 Hitchcock films are :

Notorious
North By North West
Dial M for Murder and Shadow of a doubt (tie)

Those are all fantastic! I'll add Vertigo and Rear Window. :)

In high school, we did a local radio show presentation of 'Dial M for Murder' on Halloween. I had the Grace Kelly part. :)

I finally watched Zero Dark Thirty on DVD, and while it was not bad, it was likely not a 5-Oscars-movie to me (which, I understand, it did not win, but was only nominated for, but still)....

Spoorloos aka The Vanishing. It was remade in America as The Vanishing but I wanted to watch the original as they are almost always better than the remakes.
After watching the trailer for the remake, the original definitely looks better. The remake looks like a Lifetime movie.

Yes, the original movie seems to be more interesting!
I have seen the remake, and while it was ok, it has of course been treated with a Hollywood-happy-ending-makeover o_O

And I think that defeated the whole point of the movie. The original ending was unexpected and stuck with you.
There was so much talk about the ending that I had to watch it. I was very tempted to peek at the spoilers, but I'm glad I didn't.

Let us know what you are going to watch.

San Andreas (2015) - IMDb
I have a pretty sizable Hitchcock **giggle** collection.... :p Sorry, goofy mood today. LOL

Tomorrow, I think I'll watch The Lady Vanishes again.... perhaps The 39 Steps (I did the play a couple years ago, what a blast!).... maybe even Hitchcock once again to wrap up the evening, as an homage.

My favorite Hitchcock movies are The Birds, Psycho and North by Northwest. Although, if Rear Window is airing on TV, I'll watch that, too.

I love Rear Window! And Vertigo and North by Northwest as well. The Birds always freaked me out, so I don't watch that one too often.
