According to a statement by a person quoted in the NY Times article, the judge was not a Muslim.

Well, the confusion is understandable; she has a Muslim name. If there WAS foul play, the person who killed her would have assumed she was and that most certainly would be a motive in the murder.

Gregg Allman, Soulful Trailblazer of Southern Rock, Dies at 69 :(

**sigh** Son of a b*tch. Cripes, Cornell's funeral was just yesterday. OK, no more bad-*** rock legends are going!

It's like the Allman Brothers Band was cursed or something. But I loved their music, and I loved Southern rock in general. I still have an album (vinyl) that I found in the remainders bin at Tower Records called The Best of Southern Rock, and it has some great songs on it, from the Allmans, the Marshall Tucker Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Dr. John, etc.

Back before I joined my first band, I used to sit in with some friends who had an acoustic trio (their band gigged on weekends, the trio had a weekly house gig)... awesome guys, very talented... two guitars and an upright bass. When I sat in to sing, we liked to try out new stuff, just to see what happened... we started doing an acoustic version of "Whipping Post." That and my standard "Me and Bobby McGee" became crowd faves.

Only have one Allman Brothers song on my phone... my personal favorite:
