News Plant Based/Vegan

Applewood comes to Canada. It's available in Superstore plus other major supermarkets.

I just went and checked online and my store does have some, thank you for the heads up, however it is very expensive. $13 CAN for 200 grams - the same amount of Violife or Daiya is $6-7 - it may be something that I buy once for a special occasion.

It cost £2.70 in Tescos. That is a ridiculous price. However, it's far better compared to Violife or Daiya.

@shyvas I'm trying to get my head around yellow split pea cheese- but I'd definitely be willing to buy it and try it. I had similar misgivings about "Vegelicious", a milk substitute made largely from potato- but it was pretty good. (What wasn't good was that it contained Titanium Dioxide- I think that stuff has since been considered unfit for human consumption. But I bought some of this drink powder a long time ago and haven't had it since. Although it was convincing as far as taste went, it wasn't even close to milk as far as nutrients were concerned.)

This might make for a good contest or focus group.
Come up with a manly name for a vegan product.
Off the top of my head I'm thinking we name products after Celebrity Athletes or maybe sports or teams. Although I can think there might be hidden pitfalls there.

If lab based meats ever go mainstream we can have Mastodon Burgers for Cave Men. Maybe not have to wait for the lab based versions. Just call a regular plant based burger a Mastodon Burger. although that could be confusing.
I think
nope. It was oat milk before. You know, even the picture of the chocolate bars are the same.
so I don't know what is New about this.
And I don't think it was just planning before.. the article says they are available in stores.
I'm thinking there must be something new.
But I don't know why I care so much. I never did see the orriginal ones in stores. but I would like to get one.

Oh wait, now I see it.
New flavors.

Chocolate hazelnut sounds wonderful, I'll need to look for this. Who knew soap makers made chocolate!

I think lab-based meats will go mainstream almost immediately. Even if there are those who claim they will 'never eat something created in a lab,' there are more of us who value life and will want to save farm animals, while 'still getting our meat.' In the end, it will just be meat and I think that will win out fairly quickly.
