Oh geez, that is NOT what I meant! That's the other end.
I was giving guys much like how i see Al Frankens actions, in what at least he felt, was simply good natured and could be played with. NOT power trips where fear is involved
I got the impression, mostly from Sweeten herself, that if it were openly discussed at the time, it would have been resolved. I felt her coming out was after years of being unsure of just how she felt- like maybe she couldn't be sure whether or not she was ok, and now the table got tipped

Thanks for the clarification.

Oh yeah! and another reason I give those who've straightened up forgiveness.
In his office yet...
Think of how many men we've long known about and life just goes on for them? Like it was a big deal and then died down. There were several homophobes who couldn't pray away their own gay. Jerry Falwell, these guys-

I realize this isn't the thread topic, and they're not accused of harassment but I already looked them up.

I heard on some news outlet that a woman who did complain about Charlie Rose was fired. This is what I know to be true. For so many, there never will be justice. I have not heard this woman come forward and I don't know if the report is true. But I have to know this has happened to people who can do nothing but stuff it down and go find another job. I know how these people feel.

An article in the BBC website today was saying that UK libel laws may prevent such stories coming out in the UK. That sounds plausible.

One thought I have on the Al Franken picture ... if the lady was wearing a flak jacket at the time, as it was indicated, then he could not really "grope" her breasts, as flak jackets are bullet/shrapnel proof, totally rigid and weigh about 10 pounds.

If you have ever worn one, you might understand what I am saying, and that you do not feel anything through it, neither what is below it, not if somebody touches you above it.

It is still in very poor taste, of course.

To be perfectly honest, I thought exactly the same thing.... Am I a bad person? :bag: LOL

Remember, it's not just the picture.

"Two more women have told HuffPost that Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) touched their butts in separate incidents. These are the third and fourth such allegations against Franken in the past week. Leeann Tweeden, a radio host, wrote last week that Franken had kissed and groped her without her consent during a 2006 USO tour. On Monday, Lindsay Menz accused Franken of groping her at the Minnesota State Fair in 2010.

The two additional women, who said they were not familiar with each others’ stories, both spoke on condition of anonymity."

I'll wait until the Washington Post, the NY Times, or some other reputable news organization decides to report on it. They corroborate, checking times and schedules, and corroborating witnesses, before theory publish. The Huff Post, and other "yellow" media outlets, don't, and that's dangerous, because anyone can say anything.

Well the Washington post has published an article
Franken apologizes for making some women 'feel badly'
that repeats the Huff Post allegations (but only as citing them as exactly that - Huff Post allegations)

They also did this opinion piece which basically says Franken shouldn't resign because he's a democrat and there is a bigger picture

Perspective | I’m a feminist. I study rape culture. And I don’t want Al Franken to resign.

Not sure I agree with that. I think in the long run it will be better for society for everyone to do what's morally right and try and be squeaky clean.

However even though I said Franken should resign, I don't feel that strongly about it.
