Huge difference in between tawdry sexual advances in social situations and those where power is wielded, with threats and fear.
I just heard on NPR a man apologising for making sexual advances while drunk--and I mean improper advances not restraint. Is that improper? Yes. Should he be admonished? Yes. But if that's all that's all. I have known enough tawdry women who need to make the same apologies to men.
Both sexes have lauded sex over each other forever, in different ways. I just hope we keep the focus on the actions that actually have created inequalities to cause people to lose employment or be charged criminally. If we lump every pat on the azz or what was done in jest the same as actions where fear is caused we lose

We just got our copy of the most recent New Yorker magazine... here's the cover:

New Yorker Cover Revisits Sexual Harassment At Thanksgiving Day Parade

Anyone else think the women of the #metoo campaign should get Time person of the year?

OK, this is spooky... especially considering what I posted. It said I posted twice. Then I deleted & both were gone. Anyhoo, I'll try to re-cap....

When accusations against politicians started springing up, all was semi-quiet on the internet, depending on the politician himself, his affiliation, & on what sites you use (and what sort of security/ad-blockers you have).... When Franken broke, it's been reported that pop-ups o-plenty were bombarding sites... and all were traced back to Russian bots. o_O

In theory at least it could even be Harvey Weinstein for person of the year. Given that they have had not just Trump but Stalin and Hitler, and are constantly having to remind people that the person chosen is the person that most influenced the year or was most in the news. However, I don't see it happening. I can't really see him going in for an interview and photoshoot.

If Time was truly global and not an American/Western magazine, then it ought to be Xi Jinping after he consolidated his power and because the most powerful person on the planet. However, I don't think Time will do that because of its Western bias.

I think the me too women, or someone related to that, is a really good shout. I can see it happening.

Matt Layer has bitten the dust.

Is that a typo or a pun?

Matt Lauer fired by NBC News, accused of "inappropriate sexual behavior" - CBS News

I noticed that there’s no mention of the incident at the Olympics in the CBS report, which apparently was the main cause of the investigation.

I swear, a guy could sexually assault a woman right in front of Trump, and he’d just laugh it off and say, “What’s the big deal? She’s clearly a ten and he’s just having fun.”

Autocorrect, but I wish I'd been clever enough....

Two very different stories. Allegations against Keillor popped up immediately following his defense of Al Franken. Matt Lauer, on the other hand, is a known creep....

Garrison Keillor Accused Of 'Inappropriate Behavior,' Minnesota Public Radio Says
In statements to the Minnesota Star Tribune, Keillor said that he "put [his] hand on a woman's bare back" and alleged that he had been groped by dozens of female fans.

On Tuesday, The Washington Post published an opinion column by Keillor in which he defended Sen. Al Franken, accused of forcibly kissing a radio host and groping another woman during a photo, against calls for his resignation.

"On the flight home, in a spirit of low comedy, Al ogled Miss [Leeann] Tweeden and pretended to grab her and a picture was taken. Eleven years later, a talk show host in LA, she goes public, and there is talk of resignation. This is pure absurdity, and the atrocity it leads to is a code of public deadliness," Keillor wrote. "No kidding."

Matt Lauer Accused of Sexual Harassment by Multiple Women (EXCLUSIVE)
As the co-host of NBC’s “Today,” Matt Lauer once gave a colleague a sex toy as a present. It included an explicit note about how he wanted to use it on her, which left her mortified.

On another day, he summoned a different female employee to his office, and then dropped his pants, showing her his *****. After the employee declined to do anything, visibly shaken, he reprimanded her for not engaging in a sexual act.

He would sometimes quiz female producers about who they’d slept with, offering to trade names. And he loved to engage in a crass quiz game with men and women in the office: “f—, marry, or kill,” in which he would identify the female co-hosts that he’d most like to sleep with.

The allegations against Keillor were made in October. MPR hired an attorney to investigate, and that investigation is ongoing, but there was apparently already enough there for MPR to take the financial hit that its decision to not rebroadcast Keillor's past shows will entail.

But why did we only hear about them now? I dunno, I'm sorry, I'm depressed about this sh*t.... minor infraction, if you ask me. But I know many have & will fall... and if some inherently good guys need to be taken down with the real f*cking creepos, so be it... matters will sort out in time.

I hope.
