I usually forget that slaughterhouse workers are also victims.

"I worked in a slaughterhouse. You stop noticing the screams"

We had to desensitize ourselves because we had to feed our kids and pay rent. What other choice did we have?

ABSOLUTELY TRUE. I never ever thought about the workers when I was an omnivore. It is a hidden issue
by the industry, that struggles to keep workers. The turnover rate is the highest in any industry. Most of
the humans who work there are immigrants. There is a high rate of injuries, and workers are pressured
not to report them. OSHA colluded with the USDA to change the way injuries were reported and
categorized years ago. It SHOULD be called the most dangerous job in America, but they deliberately re-classified
things. What a horrific job day after day, which ends up numbing workers to emotions and feelings. In addition,
any town where slaughterhouses open, the crime rate goes up, such as violence, domestic abuses,
and sexual assaults. When humans eat animals they are harming more than the farm animals. thanks.
