I am cooking a meal for Valentine's day later, vegan steak, posh chips/fries and garlicky asparagus. I have store bought lemon cheesecake for dessert.

last night we had bean dip that had more veggies than beans I think - one can of pinto beans mashed, onion, jalapeno, bell pepper, 1/2 zucchini, sliced olives, salsa, chipotle sauce, cumin, garlic powder, paprika, cherry tomatoes and scooped up with blue corn tortilla chips
dessert - 2 squares dk chocolate, 1 brazil nut, 3 almonds, some roasted and raw pumpkin seeds

That was the best mock meat I've ever tasted! My husband said it didn't taste like steak.
I can't remember what steak tasted like, but I would say it reminded me of a roast dinner beef joint.
The last time I had that was about 1990, though. We are definitely going to buy that again.

It has some good reviews on vegan FB groups. I must buy some when I'm in Brighton-hopefully very soon.

Yes. Not quite as stiff as egg whites but it worked anyway. I added a teaspoon of white wine vinegar before beating.

Veggie chili that my mom made and some bannock bread. So delicious!
we made tacos last night with Gardein mince/burger and I don't know why but the smell was awful... and it pushed out my earlier lunch within just a few minutes of finishing eating so something was off... my honey didn't notice the smell nor did he suffer any side effects...

I'm making a vegan chicken Parmesan. I'm using a Gardein cutlet(s) with a delicious homemade marinara sauce, which I will top with locally made artisan mozza. I'm going to serve it with spaghetti.
