Health Issues The Everything Covid 19 Thread

I was wondering about vet offices. That’s very concerning.
Sooo glad I just got their meds refilled!
Chewy has my autoship food- Diamond naturals- and litter- Dr Elseys stocked. I had just delayed shipment but I think I'll make it sooner as they state they'll take longer. Two days instead of one? I swear I've gotten it the same day !

They told me 6-8 days I think. And the items are in stock. I have to go back and read my email again. And yes they are usually super fast!

No, in the U.S. most people can't.

Those who live a middle class lifestyle assume that's the norm. It isn't.

Fifty percent of U.S. households have an annual income below $50,000.
I've always stocked non perishables when on sale, and some in bulk. Beans, canned tomatoes, grains. I stopped pasta when I got pantry moths in a box that got hidden!
I've wanted to see how long I could go without doing any shopping, or just for produce, but I always cave. I think of it like a saving account.
Maybe this time I'll find out!

@KLS52 take care of yourself! I hope it passes. Every itchy nose is freaky now

I just got a call from work that the hours of the store have now changed to 11 to 8 instead of 9:30-10. So our schedules have to adjust. This is an interesting development and subject to change at any moment! I guess the reasoning is to limit exposure but not close entirely. As long as I get hours, I am ok with this change.

Oh and the governor has closed all bars and clubs for 30 days and restaurants will have to only have 50% capacity and space out tables. They are going to designate parking spaces downtown for curbside takeout at eateries there. Now there will be crowds at the liquor stores! :D

have a phone appt with an RN tomorrow morning. I was in the medical office building today for Hydration and to pick up a prescription. I hope they can check my records and see who had contact with me. I may have infected them.

Darn. Starting tomorrow all my appts are on the phone. Today was the last (for a while) that I saw anyone in person.

Wow, Lou, all the best from my side as well.

Some important consideration - don't know if that has been mentioned yet - DO NOT TAKE IBUPROFEN if there is a risk it might be COVID-19!

According to reports from France, Ibuprofen can make a COVID-19 infection worse by attacking the inflammation, which can lead to a more severe outcome.
Paracetamol, on the other hand, is fine according to the same report, as it only attacks the fever but not the inflammation.

I’m also hearing the same regarding Ibuprofen.

I had to look up Paracetamol. It’s also known as acetaminophen (Tylenol).

Restaurants and bars are closed in Ohio, only take out.
Library, Rock Hall, Art museum, Cleveland zoo---everything
Gas prices are down too, and no where to go!

It's really getting depressing. I'm planning on making a list of things to do this weekend to keep busy, like starting some plants, that vertical herb garden using a skid I've had since last year....Although I believe it's gonna be cold this weekend

Yeah, Paracetamol was the "old" standard for treating headaches and fever. I was a big fan of Ibuprofen as it seemed to work faster and more effective, but this is, of course, a big issue with that drug.

Damn, now I have to go get some Tylenol as all I have on hand is ibuprofen.
Yeah it is a bummer than gas is going down and we can't take any road trips! I have books to read and DVD's to watch. The library is still open at this time but who knows what will happen in the next few days. They keep extending the due dates though.

...and our primary voting has been delayed till June
Last night we learned our governors request to postpone had been denied, so I went to bed thinking I'd go right after work. I wake up to learn it was contested and reversed. There were people at work who went before work not even knowing that-like there weren't signs up, just locked doors.
That was a good decision on DeWines part. We hadn't enough poll workers, and when you're telling people to limit crowds to 10 people only makes sense.

I went to the Home Depot today for some screws. Very quiet! Toilet paper and disinfectant products sold out. I saw cans of peanuts being sold by the cash register, and I had to squash the impulse to buy them. Mantra: We have enough food, we have enough food . . .

When the petrol stations start selling gas cheap, there will be certain people buying it and hoarding it in 5 gallon pails and 55 gallon drums. Gotta fuel their 12 mile-per-gallon trucks - get ready for the zombie apocalypse, ya know?

Here's how to intelligently store petrol in plastic bags!
