Health Issues The Everything Covid 19 Thread

I should listen later. The first time I got my D tested was at the end of a very sunny summer, that I intentionally spent going out without sun protection and skin exposed. I also took D2. I was at 11 (30 is the low end of normal here)
Anyway, after mega doses and continued high does of D3 my bone pain in ankles was finally resolved.
I'm suspect

and now it is my brother-in-law who has it - he went to a christian convention over easter and did wear his mask the whole time other than when he was preaching/speaking - my sister went on Saturday as well and yet she does not seem to have it so far - he is over 75 and fairly healthy so hopefully he will recover quickly - they have a daughter-in-law who is a nurse so I am sure she will be keeping a close eye on him

I think we brought this up before but I can't remember.
One of my favorite SF authors coined the phrase "evolution in action". And the Darwin Awards are based on cleaning out the gene pool.

IF antivaxers dying of Covid are evolution in action, in the future will we see more states go blue?
Would it be callous of me to suggest this could be a silver lining?

Well evolution is a slow thing. so probably not in my lifetime. And there would have to be a gene for stupid or gullible.

@Emma JC I hope your brother in law recovers quickly and that your sister doesn’t catch it!

Thank you, he is feeling a bit better this morning and my sister woke up with a sore throat and feeling weepy so it is likely that she now has it also.

Hopefully a mild dose and a quick recovery.

he is coughing less today and she is coughing more so hopefully a 4-5 day downtime and then all good - I reminded her to lie on her stomach for a little bit every so often to give the lungs a break

thank you all for your kind words and healing thoughts

So our local high school had a prom. I think its the first one in two years. Masks were optional. On the Monday after 100 students tested positive.
Another high school is having a prom this week, and they have changed their policy from mandatory to highly recommended. Pretty much backwards. The venue sets the policy. and already some concerned parents are trying to make sure everyone Does wear a mask.

My nephew Matthew and his 6-year-old son have tested positive for COVID. So far both have just mild symptoms, but we had to postpone plans for lunch this Sunday to celebrate Matthew's 30th birthday.

My county is one of six that are recommended to continue wearing masks when going to indoor places. Booooooo. 🙁
:(
I haven't checked my county, but the numbers statewide are up again. Test positivity rate was over 13% yesterday. <sigh> I haven't seen what the hospitalization numbers are. I'm still wearing the mask at the store and whatnot. I've never stopped.
