The Halloween Thread

Quite a few of the houses around here have decorated their houses for Halloween as I noticed on my walk today. I saw families walking around with costumes on. Quite cute.

I don't appreciate the early fireworks tonight, though! For Bonfire Night here. 5th November.

Only two trick or treaters last night. I'm a little disappointed but happy to be able to go to bed early.

We had so many adorable kids in groups with parents, all in super creative costumes. I spent the first 45 minutes on porch, then it got dark and I left a bowl on the porch. I think only a couple came after dark. New moon so super dark!

I haven't had trick or treaters in many years, since I moved from the house in Deltona. This apartment complex has no trespassing signs all over (not that it stops people from coming through here). Also there are very few kids living here. DeLand downtown has a Halloween event that is traditionally very busy. The plaza where TJ Maxx is used to have a big event but covid put an end to that and now we can't even hand out candy.

I was at my parents' condo, so no trick-or-treaters (it's a 55-and-older place). I don't really celebrate Halloween that much anymore, having worked nights for so long. I do decorate inside for fall with pumpkins and whatnot.
