C.A.G.E.D North West 'Ban the Bolt' Campaign

Each year an estimated 10,000 ex-racing greyhounds are 'unaccounted' for -- puppies that don’t make the grade, dogs that sustain injuries, are pregnant or unable to find homes, most are less than five years old.

Many of these dogs are disposed of in the most 'economical' way - by bolt gun.

Under existing UK legislation, any person can use a bolt gun to destroy a greyhound, if they are the legal owner. Attempted destruction of greyhounds by bolt has resulted in innocent dogs being left to suffer in agony for hours, before being found and taken to a veterinary surgery to be finally put to sleep by lethal injection.

These dogs should at the very least be entitled to a humane death. Destruction of greyhounds should only be performed by use of intravenous euthanasia, administered by qualified veterinary surgeons.

Hundreds of South African lions are being slaughtered to make bogus sex potions for men. But we can stop this cruel trade by hitting the government where it hurts -- the tourism industry.

A global ban on tiger bone sales has traders hunting a new prize -- the majestic lions. Lions are farmed under appalling conditions in South Africa for "canned hunting", where rich tourists pay thousands to shoot them through fences. Now experts say lion bones from these killing farms are being exported to phony 'medicine' makers in Asia for record profits. Trade is exploding and experts fear that as prices rise, even wild lions -- with only 20,000 left in Africa -- will come under poaching attack.

Due to infighting between the management of the Surabaya zoo, the animals have been horribly neglected. No food or medical care. Lots of the animals have already died, the rest are sick, walking skeletons.

Sybil of cee4life has been fighting on their behalf for the past two years.

The severe case of the horrendous neglect of the Surabaya Zoo animals in Indonesia has been tediously going on for years. It has come to the point now where all neglect, abuse and diseases causing multiple deaths is known world wide, yet still nothing of substance is being done to allow professional aid to these animals.

Additionally, the ongoing internal conflict of the zoo management along with the unprofessional management by political elements show that it is clear that the animals these people are deemed to care for and protect, are prioritised last. The neglect and abuse goes on...
