TV & Film The TV Room

no, not so far - hmmm well they are selling octopus and fish and chicken etc on the street markets but no specific cruelty targeted at animals - and selling I mean gutting etc

Oh. Okay.

I still think I will avoid it. I found Walking Dead and Game of Thrones too violent too after a while.

I didn’t watch GOT for the longest time because of the violence but then my curiosity got the best of me because all of my family was watching and I felt left out lol. I ended up binging it and loved it. I still watch walking dead after taking a year and a half off. This is the last season.

It's weird as I really love horror but only supernatural films/shows that scare the pants off me.

I get too grossed out by very violent things as they disturb me too much.:lala:

I used to hide my eyes quite a lot when I first started watching TWD and I still do sometimes because the gore gets so graphic at times!

I didn't finish the first book of GOT. I quit right after they killed the boy's wolf.
So I never really wanted to watch the tv show. but I was very tempted to finish the book and watch the tv show - cause everyone else raved about it.

I watched the first season of Walking Dead but I felt the second season started off too slow and I lost interest.

Sometimes I don't understand my own taste in tv shows. so don't try to figure it out. I'm just weird about series.

I caught up with The Handmaid's Tale and season 5 won't air until next fall so I needed something to watch. I found The Purge. Since I had seen a couple of the movies and liked them I started watching it. A couple of episodes in, it isn't bad.

I definitely close my eyes a lot and skip the gore.

through to episode 6 now of Squid Game - it is bizarre for sure and yet fascinating at the same time - it's about humanity and inhumanity - one of our money market commentators today has an article out about the show because it is partially based on the high amount of personal debt that people have in South Korea and she talks about the fact that Canadians (and I am sure Americans) also have very high personal debt... so it isn't just about blood and gore (there is some) it is about the decisions that we make and their consequences too
