TV & Film The Walking Dead

I knew that Eugene annoyed me for a reason. I don't have any emotional investment in him or the other two and I don't really care if they die. I thought this episode was a little slow but it's probably because I wanted to see what happened with Beth.:p

I thought the episode was pretty awesome. Filled you in on Abraham's background and Eugene came clean.... there is more to come from him if they stick with the comic story. So many stories going at once now is kind of frustrating.

I honestly thought Eugene was dead, but I suppose he's probably not. He is getting more interesting. And I can't fault his logic. Had he not lied, he would almost assuredly be dead right now. The current group wouldn't have left him, but Abraham would have.

Random prediction: Beth eventually hooks up with that guy she tried to escape with.

The gore aspect is getting a little (pardon the pun) comical. It feels like they are deliberately making more room to cram in gore scenes whether or not it forwards the storyline. IMHO that is detrimental to the quality of the show. And now that the zombies are basically walking jelly, does anyone even need a gun or knife anymore? Hell a good punch to the nose ought to do it. The firehose scene was pushing it, come on.

If I were a writer on the show - I'd have a strain of zombies that were harder to stop, in addition to sheer numbers of them. It's become too predictable that with enough time - they are easy to dispense.

Was thinking the same thing. Skulls as soft as jello but their ligaments are still intact enough to walk and their teeth manage to maintain roots in that jello head.

Still enjoying, though. I'm a sucker for anything end of the world.

The gore does get a bit tiresome. And I think they have made the zombies a bit too "squishy". There is so much more to the story than the zombies who are easily managed at this point.

I remember when I used to actually feel a little fear when the walkers would come around. Now I know I could just supersoak the **** out of them.

Oh and: Mullets. Not even once.

Yeah I use to really really hate zombies. The original Night of the Living Dead traumatized me when I was a child. :D

I literally could not watch a zombie movie for a very long time. I DID watch some but the whole zombie genre just was NOT my thing. Until now..... The Walking Dead has converted me. :D

I agree, the thing with the hose was really ridiculous.:fp:

I'm not sure if I found that episode boring or not. It helped fill in a few of the details we didn't know before. There are only two episodes left so I hope they are worth waiting for.:p

I really liked last night's episode. 1) Scenes in the deserted city are really cool. I love the apocalyptic landscape, abandoned buildings, etc. It stands to reason that zombies wouldn't be able to climb stairs - so if you holed up on an upper level after clearing it out it would be pretty safe from them - though you'd still have humans to deal with.

2) Also liked the more in-depth / focused storyline on Daryl and Carol. They need to work the psychological angle more, it helps us to give a damn about the characters.

I thought it was another great episode. I enjoyed the flashbacks of Carol. I hate it that there is only 2 episodes left until the mid-season break. I have a feeling there will be a big cliff hanger! Rick meets Dawn perhaps? :D
