Yeah, I get it - it's the world itself; the people. What I'm saying is, zombies were pretty dang scary, too.It never really was the walkers that had to be feared .....
OMG, me too! But I loved it.Yeah I use to really really hate zombies. The original Night of the Living Dead traumatized me when I was a child.
The gore aspect is getting a little (pardon the pun) comical. It feels like they are deliberately making more room to cram in gore scenes whether or not it forwards the storyline. IMHO that is detrimental to the quality of the show. And now that the zombies are basically walking jelly, does anyone even need a gun or knife anymore? Hell a good punch to the nose ought to do it. The firehose scene was pushing it, come on.
If I were a writer on the show - I'd have a strain of zombies that were harder to stop, in addition to sheer numbers of them. It's become too predictable that with enough time - they are easy to dispense.

I couldn't make it through that one when I was a kid. I almost made it 'Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things,' almost being the key word.

That sounds very disturbing! I have watched Night of the Living Dead several times now that I am a grown up but it is still the most horrifying movie EVER for me.
