Im on a 'support' group for veggies and vegans on FB. someone asked what Veg*n meant, and i explained that it was 'veggie/vegan' and they said back to me 'youre either veggie or vegan...not inbetween' which is what I class myself as. Then a few more people joined in telling me I cannot be inbetween and one 16 year old girl said 'Why arent you vegan' And when I said i didnt want to talk about it they just carried on being generally nasty.
Pretty ****ing rude. Some support group.
I've been considering raising my children as narrow-minded, abusive, cannibalistic, Satan worshiping, book burning, bigoted, racists for the same reason.Huh. I wonder if it's the same FB group I was on where a lot of the members either were raising or planned to raise their kids omnis because they didn't want to force their beliefs on their children.
I think we should invent a secret language of nicknames for normal objects, and instead of explaining the meanings of what we've written we'll ignore almost all their requests for explanation and only give a few of them small portions of an explanation. Then instead of being scared off the newbee veg*ns will be intrigued and fight harder to enter our secret cabal.
Works for the Illuminati.
I was familiar with the term veg*n from other forums and blogs for a long time also, but I always thought it was because "vegetarian" is long to type. I never thought of veg*n as standing for "vegan", just for "vegetarian."FWIW, I was familiar with the term veg*n long before I ever found vb. First place I saw it was on a pair of earrings, of all things.
Isn't that illegal?
(Also it won't help, just saying)
