They made a law to the benefit of a private company, and violating free speech?Trying to do so is illegal.
And it would only help if it was hardcoded into the page.
I think this is either a myth, or you're confusing a Google user's policy with law.
I could be wrong, but to me the fact it would be a free speech violation is pretty convincing that it couldn't be a law in the U.S.
