A massive win for veganism, plant-based roast beats non-vegan roasts in the city for a special award.

It was announced yesterday that The Roundhill Pub was awarded with Brighton’s Best Roast – beating non-vegan roast entries

The Restaurants Brighton BRAVO Awards 2020 are the most prestigious awards of the year for all the eateries in Brighton

Max Aben, owner of The Roundhill said:

“We are so incredibly honoured to have won this prestigious BRAVO. For a plant-based roast to have come top in Brighton is something we are all incredibly proud of. We would like to thank our fantastic team for continuing to push the boundaries of plant-based dining and to all of our lovely customers who have eaten with us over the year.”

We at @vegan_food_uk have made a special video of this award, which we are publishing today. Hit the link on the image above and subscribe to our Youtube Channel to be notified when it’s up

A new plant-based restaurant called Holy Carrot has opened at Urban Retreat in Knightsbridge, London. The menu focuses on seasonal British produce, and all dishes served are free of gluten, refined sugar, preservatives, and other additives.

Holy Carrot initially opened its doors last year, but has mostly had to remain closed due to lockdown restrictions. Now, the relaxing of the rules means it is finally allowed to reopen.

The menu includes dishes such as steamed Asian dumplings, sticky and sweet orange cauliflower, and a raw Vietnamese-style green roll. Desserts are also offered, including summer berry meringue, chocolate cheesecake, and miso caramel sponge cake. A range of juices and smoothies are available, as well as drinks and cocktails (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic).

Mad fer it 🐝
Here we go, Purezza 5 is here. Today we open the doors to Purezza Manchester
– our brand new branch, situated in the heart of the Northern Quarter.

This is our first journey into the North of the UK, and we couldn’t be more excited. Over the years, we’ve had more requests to open in Manchester than any other city in the country.

Well, good things come to those who wait (and beg us a lot), and it’s an absolute pleasure to finally expand the Purezza family to MCR.

About the new branch
You can find us at 75-77 High Street, M4 1FS, and we’ll be opening at midday.

You can dine-in (we highly recommend booking), and we’re also offering takeaway. We’ll soon have click and collect, making the takeaway experience super smooth, and we’ll offer delivery via Deliveroo in the near future too.

For now, if you’re in Manchester then come and say hello. If you’re not, then raise a slice to our new branch wherever you are. 🍕

Innovative menuI

The menu will feature an array of innovative options including the restaurant’s hero dish called The Taternator – a crunchy potato finger wrapped in a tortilla – and filled with vegan cheese, toasted sesame salad, pickled jalapenos, queso sauce & crispy onions (or the non-vegan beef brisket & chimichurri sauce).

Two vegan milkshakes including one with cookies and cream, and the other with peanut butter and strawberry jam are also part of the menu along with other vegan beverages from local retailers.

Londoner’s looking to get down and dirty with some proper filthy vegan junk food need to head down to plant-based restaurant
Halo Burger to try their decadent new menu additions.

The Brixton-based restaurant had announced two new tasty options will be joining its menu – vegan ‘chicken’ nuggets from THIS™ and an irresistible deep-fried vegan Magnum ice-cream.

Halo Burger has teamed up with plant-based start-up THIS™ to add their realistic THIS™ Isn’t Chicken Nuggets to the menu. The crispy nuggets will fool even the most committed carnivore with their meaty taste and texture and come with your choice of BBQ sauce, signature sauce, ketchup or mayo.

Taking inspiration from Milky Lane café in Sydney who recently launched the ‘world’s first deep-fried vegan magnum‘, Halo Burger has created its own tempting suped-up Deep-Fried Vegan Magnum.
The restaurant has taken a vegan vanilla Magnum and battered and coated it in cornflakes and crushed up biscuits before plunging into hot oil to create a “shattering shell with ultimate satisfaction-factor”. As if that wasn’t enough, the whole thing is then drizzled with a chocolate sauce for the ultimate sweet treat.

Our Story

We’re 100% plant-based, plastic-free & mostly gluten-free

As plant-based dining becomes more popular, opening this concept was a way for us to evolve the Erpingham house brand, and in doing so ensure we were able to reflect the area we are in. Brighton has a unique, creative & vibrant energy we wanted to capture with the approach, so we’ve developed our initial concept & have created something new for the town. With a strong plant-based heritage, Erpingham House Brighton aims to help further the world’s adoption of more plant-based foods, and as a result a more conscious lifestyle.

Soon after opening our first restaurant in Norwich in 2018, Russell Martin joined the Erpingham House team & immediately began the conversation around opening a similar venue his home town of Brighton. After developing our offering to the point we were satisfied it could add value to local people & a thriving plant-based dining scene, we set about looking for the perfect home. 14 Duke street had previously been home to a plant-based dining concept and sat nestled in a bustling, yet beautiful part of Brighton & we knew immediately this was the ideal place to open Erpingham House number 2.

The Roundhill-Brighton. 100 % Plant based.

I think that is the one with the really good vegan roast dinner.

I tried Tendrils in Soho this week (very nice food) and I'm going to Purezza in Camden in a few weeks.

Purezza in Camden has had a big extension since I was there last in 2019.

The vegan burger at Honest Burger that I had last month was very nice as well.
