Ok I am back with yet another cat series! :D Author is Shirley Rousseau Murphy and the series is Joe Grey Mysteries. Joe just happens to be a cat! This book is called "Cat Shining Bright", and of course is a murder mystery. There are talking cats in this series who are of an ancient clan. Only a very few humans are in their circle of those who know the secret. Joe helps the police solve murders. The cats can easily follow suspects and are even capable of calling in anonymous tips. Joe even has his own cellphone! LOL This was a lot of fun and I will read more.

You are really earning that promotion.

I read another John Sandford in the Virgil Flowers series called "Escape Clause." It was another good one about the black market selling of tiger parts for Chinese medicine. Horrible that this is a thing! Two tigers are stolen from a Minnesota zoo and Virgil has to solve the crime and hopefully save the tigers. I like Sandford's writing as he is a good storyteller and his humor makes it a fun read even with a disturbing subject.

Perhaps it will be adapted to an Ace Ventura film. :p

I read the first book in the "space cat" series which I think there are only two. I wish I had read them in order but it was still enjoyable. This one is "Catalyst" and was the background for "Catacombs".
I have to go to the library tomorrow to pick up some books I have reserved. No cat ones this time but I may look for one!

I started thinking. Since you are in Florida, do you have to worry about Cat Book Bans.
There are all those Disney Cat.

So I did a little research an I don't think you have anything to worry about.
Turns out its been established that Cats Are Republicans

Me again! I have read two books in 4 days this past week! First another in the Cats in Trouble Mystery series called "The Cat, the Sneak and the Secret" by Leann Sweeney. Another fun and fast read. I read the book in an afternoon. A clever cat is a kleptomaniac in this murder mystery. I will continue reading this fun series.
Then I read another Deborah Crombie called "A Bitter Feast" which was another in the series I have been enjoying. This book is about the mysterious deaths of people associated with a famous chef and a village restaurant/pub. I really like the main characters in these books.

I decided to get the first Deborah Crombie book in the series and see what I thought - it was a pretty typical who-dun-it and so now I have the last one (available to me) in the series to see how it has changed over the years. Thank you for the recommendation, I always enjoy a good mystery as long as they don't drag it out too much.

I finally made it up to the library to renew and change address on my card. I wanted it for digital books, but I picked up "Made for Love" book. I saw the amazon show that it was based off and I did not even know it was a book. I went down a rabbit hole, as they say about the author. I am going to put some holds in on books. It was quite sad how few books were there from when I was young. I think I will make it a point to go more.

I read "Thick as Thieves" by Sandra Brown. It was a pretty decent mystery thriller with a decent plot. However, as I am not a fan of "romance novels", when the male and female main characters started having graphic sex, it kind of lost me. Of course they were both extremely handsome and beautiful and fell into immediate "lust." I really can do without that stuff in a murder mystery! LOL

hehe - that is my favourite type of romance... I'll have to look it up

hmm seems I read it back in 2020 - so I have borrowed a couple of her others as I know that I used to read her when I borrowed hard back books

Haha, same! I think it's worse in the audiobooks too. It's kind of like this only in ear version 😂

I found the first book in the Virgil Flowers series by John Sandford. It is called "Dark of the Moon" and was published in 2007. I am enjoying this series. It is really cool that it takes place in Minnesota and I recognize several of the cities mentioned. Worthington is a small city near where I grew up and is mentioned often. This is another murder mystery/serial killer story where Virgil uses his unconventional skills to solve the crime. Sandford writes with skill and humor and I will continue reading this series.

yesterday I read Sandra Brown's Mirror Image - it was very good and today I am reading her Switched

Switched was very good also - I had forgotten how good her books are and how much tension is created while still keeping you interested - at one point during Mirror Image my heart was actually beating faster and as an experienced and avid reader that rarely happens.

I also just finished Virgil Flower series Dark of the Moon and I did finish it and yet didn't really enjoy it a lot as there were too many moving parts and people and subplots... I will concentrate on Sandra Brown for now as I have a lot that I haven't read since covid started.

I finished another Deborah Crombie in the series I have been reading called "Now May You Weep." It was another good one. Her books are very interesting because besides being very good mysteries, you always learn something from the plot. This one was about whiskey distilleries in Scotland. The history of a couple of the distilleries is told in flashbacks to 1898-1900. Former books I have read have taught me about rowing and gourmet cooking.
