News 2016 U.S. Presidential election - the highs and lows

I heard yesterday that the FBI were involved as the girl Weiner was sex texting is underage and it crosses state lines so it is a federal case, something like that. I'm sure someone can correct me if that's wrong.
Yeah. The fact that she's underage makes it a crime, and the fact that the communications crossed state lines gives the FBI jurisdiction.

That still does not explain (to me) why the FBI, investigating a case of sexual relations to an underage girl, would analyze emails from the defendant's wife stored on his computer to/about Hilary Clinton for potential wrongdoings on the side of Ms. Clinton (and comment loudly about it, not knowing yet whether there is anything there or not) o_O.

Agreed.

What I cannot understand is that the agents conducting the Weiner investigation found these emails at the beginning of October. Either the FBI is inept and it really did take a month for them to notify Comey of the discover, or Comey waited to released his extremely vague letter at a time when it would do maximum damage.

Actually, a possible (likely even) explanation of that scenario might be if Mr. Weiner, resident sleazeball, had addressed the FBI agents investigating him with something like "Well, guys, if you would be able to be a bit lenient on the whole underage sexual texting thing, I might offer you some potential evidence in some of your other cases ..."

Back to the topic of Clinton and friends in the media:
Leaked emails from WikiLeaks belonging to Clinton campaign chair John Podesta showed that Ms Brazile funneled two questions to Ms Clinton, a longtime political ally, before a CNN-sponsored debate and voter town hall event against Vermont senator Bernie Sanders.
Ms Brazile is now interim head of the Democratic National Committee.
She took over from Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who resigned from the post after the hack of DNC emails showed that she and her team allegedly attempted to smear former democratic rival Mr Sanders.

Ms Brazile has denied the accusations.

Haha, pretty funny. Even if you take away #9, (I saw something that showed clips of two other unrelated times where he made similar gestures so I'm letting him have that one) and you add Hilary's Benghazi and letting a child rapist go free, he still loses by a mile.

I would, however, be interested in seeing what a pro Trump version would look like.

Disclaimer: I have no idea of the legitimacy of the source. With less than a week left I still have this unrelenting need to be fair so that I won't have what I call, "the pit" in my stomach when I go to vote. I keep searching for facts, but sadly, I don't think the truth is even out there. If it is, it's too muddied to make a difference. I'm a mess over this election.

A Critical Comparison of the Pros and Cons of Hillary Clinton vs. Donald Trump

FALSE: Hillary Clinton Freed Child Rapist

WHAT'S TRUE: In 1975, young lawyer Hillary Rodham was appointed to represent a defendant charged with raping a 12-year-old girl. Clinton reluctantly took on the case, which ended with a plea bargain for the defendant, and later chuckled about some aspects of the case when discussing it years later.

WHAT'S FALSE: Hillary Clinton did not volunteer to be the defendant's lawyer, she did not laugh about the case's outcome, she did not assert that the complainant "made up the rape story," she did not claim she knew the defendant to be guilty, and she did not "free" the defendant.

Bill Weld, the Libertarian VP candidate:

I have a lot to say about Mrs. Clinton that has not been said by others recently and that I think needs to be said. I mean I've known her for 40 years. I worked with her, I know her well professionally. I know her well personally. I know her to be a person of high moral character. A reliable person and an honest person, however Mr. Trump may rant and rave to the contrary. So I'm happy to say that. People can make their own choices.

And I’ve been at some pains to say that I fear for the country if Mr. Trump should be elected. I think it’s a candidacy without any parallel that I can recall. It’s content-free and very much given to stirring up ambient resentment and even hatred. And I think it would be a threat to the conduct of our foreign policy and our position in the world at large.

Libertarian Party VP nominee Bill Weld basically just endorsed Hillary Clinton

A Libertarian endorsed Hilary. Think about that for a moment....
He didn't "endorse" her; he attested to her character. I'm sure he disagrees with her on lots of issues.

BTW, her name is spelled Hillary. I'm not sure why people who complain that she's been "part of the system" for too long still can't spell her name.

I voted yesterday, and it felt really good. (No early voting in my state, but election judges working at precincts other than their own have to vote by absentee ballot, because we work from 4:45 a.m. until after the polls close at 7 p.m., so we can't get to our "home" precincts to vote.)

The whole argument in favor of Clinton vs. Trump in the media and on VV for that matter has been about character, so yes, he did endorse her.

As if you've never misspelled anything.... Just a pathetic diversion.

Of course I've misspelled words, beencounter.

Once, twice, three times - it's a mistake.

But I just did a search for "Hilary" in all your posts, and the results are, well, not just a simple typo.
