I'm 72 and my wife of 47 years is 70. We have gone full-throttle vegan for the past 10 days. Menu planning is a challenge but here's one significant result for me. My life long acid-reflux is GONE! Obviously I was lactose-intolerant and didn't know it. The second one is rather comical but important to me. Lack of body odor! Yes, I do stay scrupulously clean but after only 4-6 hours from showering I would begin to smell like dirty sweat socks. Getting all of that putrid animal flesh out of my system? It can't be anything else. Cooking is my hobby and from our lacto-ovo vegetarian days we have LOTS of recipes convertible to vegan. Somebody please stop me! Interesting fact? I could exist on rice, corn and beans.

    Welcome to the forum, Jeffrey.

I like the potato diet too. It's actually a really great way to kick-start your plant-based journey.

    welcome, Jeffrey!

Rice, corn and beans are amazing and I too could exist on that if necessary.

There are lots of menu ideas here on the forum, many even have photos!

    Enjoy.

Hello and welcome! I was also lactose intolerant without knowing it.
