If say someone wrote to a supermarket giving positive feedback on one of the products they stock, what do they do with it other than maybe respond? Does it go into some kind of 'positive feedback' file? Does it go on some list, to help make future decisions?

I suppose the actual producer of a product must treat feedback quite seriously, well sometimes...I just wondered how.

I don't actually know, but the reasonable thing to do, I think, would be to consider testing the product in a control group. Just one positive feedback instance about a product doesn't mean it necessarily has the potential to become a big hit. If the control group is positive, then they can consider measures to sell more of the product, such as better, more visible placement in the stores ( at the expense of other products), more advertising, etc.

If positive feedback is filed in a useful way, then maybe more veg*ns should write to companies about products they like.

I always worry about products being removed.
