Is it time for the United States to pitch the penny?

we still have pennies, AND tuppence pieces(2pence), in the UK...We used to have half pennies when I was a kid.

I think I have some British half pennies in my coin collection!

We stopped using pennies at the beginning of the year in Canada. It's pretty ****ing great.

I noticed that during my stay. You don't pay the 1st 3 pennies (?) and when the amount comes to 4 pennies you pay 5 cents.
I found it to be logical and wish they would adopt the same system overhere as you have to pay even 1 penny.
